Where was I...trying to find myself
Here I am, a typical Thursday. I was thankful that I didn't pour myself a drink before 1pm. I've had 2 bombshells happen in my life which left me in this direction. My alcoholism has been just that for 14 months. I was laid off from my company along with 49 of my co-workers. I didn't realize how that would affect my emotional/mental state. Then, last October, my very best friend was murdered by her husband. My sister, her neighbor, found her only because I asked her to knock on the door. And here we are, 20 pounds later and an alcoholic. I can blame all I want, but here I am, it's just me and what's my excuse. I can't see myself at an AA meeting. I don't feel like I need to apologize to people for my behavior due to my drinking because really, I've kept to myself. Well, aside from my kids and my husband. I need help. I know that. I know I have a problem. For sure.
I'm glad you found us, Indigochic.
You'll find no judgement here.
I'm really sorry about your friend and your job loss.
Take a look around and keep posting. You don't have to join AA, there are many alternatives.
