Early Riser Check-in Thread Part 30
g'morning. Gee I wish I was in London today. Instead, I have to go to work. At least there will be sunshine today!
A little sore this morning. Pulled up a runner carpet from the back hallway yesterday which had been practically undisturbed for the past 24 years. The rubber backing was more like rubber cement stuck to the linoleum floor. 20ft of hands and knees scraping and scrubbing. One small stubborn patch of black gunk remains.
Have a great day everyone.

Awoken by kitty crazy fit. I wish I had that much energy in the morning.
Dragon just reading about the carpet pull up made my knees hurt. They whined yesterday from getting up and down from the floor playing with Gdaughter. Ouch!
Rain forecast for days with a little snow mixed in here and there. W also. Blah.
Have a good Monday everyone.

ST I have a pair of strap on rubber knee pads when I have to be on the floor. My life in manual labor jobs have taught me all the confort hacks...LOL.
Hi Chole, How's the garden, flowers, and life in general?
Astro, Maybe ornery old cuss is more your speed Just kidding ❤️
What motors did you see Sao?
Need to go to the hardware store to get parts for the water hook-up to the washer. Sunny with some wispy high clouds now 68f/20c for the high, some moderate wind yesterday.

I had a similar job to do in the hallway at my house where I removed a rug
that had been stuck to the hardwood floor by carpet tape for the last 20 years.
I used this solvent...and a LOT of arm juice!
This product really helped easing the job but it was still hard on my knees as Val points out
Zen's rubber knee pads are a must for that kind of job.
Have a good day friends ☼

Well, the newspaper was easy to get today. SG, it's working, I think. Only the second day of not having the paper in an awkward place, but there is hope!
Val, I've had several surgeries on my knees from horse riding accidents and ouch that sounds painful. I used to volunteer a long time ago to help at this community rose garden and my knees really hurt kneeling and pruning roses. I feel for you.
I guess I'll be doing my laundry tomorrow at my sisters. She already had plans for today, that's fine I've got phone calls and stuff to do around here.
It's really nice outside, a tad bit warmer than yesterday, but really nice.
Have a great day everyone. Sending love and peace to you all. Gator sending you a special prayer. Astro, prayers to you and your brother too. Alpine, you too that you continue to get stronger and stay cancer free. Love to you all.
Oh Purps, is your mom coming to join you soon or just a visit? I was wondering if she sold her place yet. Good luck I hope she gets up there with you soon,

Ornery old cuss fits me perfectly, Zen
Windy Sunday, had the windows open last night and woke up to 55 degrees. It'll be over 100 here soon so any cooler temps are welcome.

Astro, you are the antithesis of an ornery old cuss. You are so very kind and adventurous. I really admire the way you explore your surroundings and make time for fun as well as work. You're one of the good ones. I know Zen was joking, I just can't picture you that way at all. Sending prayers to your brother and you. Hope you're holding up well. How's the guitar playing coming? Sounds like you're getting a lot better.
Sending positive vibes your way Dragon, I have arthiritis, I can guess how your knees are suffering
It was an eclectic mix of cars there Zen, there was a very grand pre war Lagonda LG45 that had a real plutocratic presense but I was taken with this pretty little French Ford - built in the early 50s, the last years when Ford still built different cars in different european countries. At that time, high import duties meant very few foreign built cars came to Britain. I had not seen one before. It's pretty and distinctive for a mass market manufacturer. I liked it anyway.

Chloe, I hope your cat has returned home
Aly- You might be surprised at how ornery this old guy can be
Gotta put ODAAT into effect, the anticipation of how busy the week ahead is is giving me a little anxiety, just gotta take small bites of each day and deal with them. I'll take my brother to his PT appointment this morning, at 3:00 I make the long drive to the stadium to work the concert for 7 hours. I got this!

Thanks, SG. 3 days in a row, I've gotten the paper in a decent place. My neighbor's car isn't home though so there's nothing but mine to throw under, which he/she could, but they're not, Keep thinking good vibes.
Chloe, prayers that kitty comes back. How awful.
Alpine, poor you. That's late. I hope you can some rest later if you need it.
Have a great day all.
