((Lauren)) - I know you're right. Mom had several heart caths done, over the years, and the one where I was finally old enough to sign the consent, I was convinced they were going to kill her! I also remember the phone ringing off the hook when either mom or dad were sick, so I totally understand why my uncle doesn't want to talk.

I'm grateful I have my cousin on FB. Before his brother died, I hadn't seen him in over 20 years!

It's just one of those days when it's hard to be so far away from family. Aunt Phyllis is struggling, as uncle Bob's dementia gets worse and worse but she did make me laugh when she said she told him "if you talk about picking corn in the snow, ONE MORE TIME, I'm going to smack you!!" - some memory he's stuck on

I can't be in California or Arkansas, but do have all kinds of prayers heading out to them.

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

It's ok Amy to feel all those emotions..I really do understand that
you want to be there with them to help out. It simply isn't possible
at times. Cry your tears..feel your feelings..just know that all that
you are experiencing is truly felt by those that know you care.

Yes I do understand about the feeling that they were going to kill
your Mom..we did flat line at one point as he had such a fluid build
up in his lungs that the whatever code was called. Just prior to this
he told them he was drowning and no one was listening until one nurse
that was there told the docs..they immediately took out the iv fluids
and they managed to bring him back..Thank God!

Amy you are reliving alot of your Moms time..try to see the positive for
your Aunt..she is in good hands..she was a strong person prior to this..
I hold you in my hands at this moment..try to not worry so much...

((Lauren)) - Right again. My mom literally did die from all the fluid in her lungs. Even as a nurse, the whole "difficulty breathing" thing made me very nervous.

I've put out the news, have lots of people praying and you're right...aunt M is a very strong lady. As bad as she was feeling, she still answered her phone the other day when she saw it was me

I am going to focus on gratitude that I'm clean and sober, I was there for them in the worst time of their life, and I'm STILL there for them!

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

I am praying for Aunt M, (((amy))). As our (((Lauren)) said, in her reassuring post, your Aunt is strong, going through what it is like, and it is a stressful frightening thing. but so necessary. they have their eye on her and they know what is going on. keeping you in my thoughts too sweetie.

(((Lauren))) things will get better dearie. they really will. this old dark winter time, it makes it a challenge to keep things light and happy, when you have worries already.
we are here to share the load with you. everyone always helps me, you included. it helps to talk about it, and to say, hey, i am having a rough time and need some good vibes sent my way.
you are a good person. you are thoughtful. you are smart and talented. and you are loved. here and at home. and you are pretty too, i could tell by that picture of you. you give so much support here , and it is appreciated more than you could imagine. you make me feel good about myself. you are one of those givers in the world. encouraging words, validation, we all need those things.
I wanna say I understand how hard it is sometimes, to feel cheerful, when we have a heart ache in the back of our minds always. but things always are changing, and I believe in positive attitude, and I believe in the power of it. I wish I could live long enough to really grasp all the things we can do, with our mind power.
hope that you are feeling better tomorrow. hope you get some sunshine. and I hope we do too. i feel better when i take vitamin d3, dhea, and linseed oil. it really helps me, mood and energy.
I am so sleepy, might have to go get some popcorn, to keep myself awake for a while longer...lol.

Chicory..thank you..I do the vitamins..so far the only meds are a
cholesterol drug as it is a hereditary thing. I'm actually very fortunate
as my aches and pains are minor..a little more sleep or a little more
exercise always seems to help.

Well just thanks for all your nice thoughts about me..hmm..today I
was so Witchy ..hubby left home for over two hours..he and Miley,
they came home happy..I was happy to see them! sometimes I just
do not understand where my cranky comes from. It is always short
at least..we acted like we hadn't seen each other for over a week.
We are so silly at times..I guess love does that..even after all these
years..even Miley gets in on the hugs..right in the middle of it all! Lol..

Sleep well all...

((Lauren)) - YUMMM! Aunt Phyllis used to make sourdough bread..she had a "starter" that she'd had for years, just kept updating it or whatever you do with it I also loved the fresh sourdough we ate when my aunt M, a great aunt and a cousin went to San Fransisco, years and years ago.

Speaking of aunt M, cousin posted that she is doing "much better" and thanked everyone for the prayers. YAY!

Dad asked me if Elvis was losing his teeth - he is He's still got enough that he can inhale treats, eat steak/chicken/turkey as long as it's in little pieces, so that's a good thing. He doesn't LIKE wet food - none of them do.

Didn't get very far on my paper, but did get questions answered for 2 tests. Have plenty to do, will work on it and watch some football

((Love to all!))

Hugs and prayers,

Amy

Morning all:

Amy: prayers for your aunt/glad to read she posted about feeling better. Sourdough bread is a favorite in my home too, my cat Blackwell could relate to your Elvis as he has few teeth left. Poor babies, but they seem to manage somehow.

Lauren: that bread looks delicious, may I have a slice? Love your smile post, it brought a smile to my face.

Chicory: I love what you wrote about wanting to live long enough to learn what our minds are capable of. Such an interesting perspective.

To everyone and those I missed
Have a restful, happy day

Slices are ready and waiting for anyone that wants one!

And sourdough starter does have a life of its own..you even feed it,
we haven't given it a name yet, we should it's been living here
for some time now..

Nice and slow day here as usual..I think I will go for a walk as it
is nice and sunny yet cold..
