I did my psycho therapy today, did a NA meeting, and the topic was unity. I find much unity on SR, we have a common goal to uplift each other and what they were sharing was exactly the way I feel about the Hens here. I know a couple of them in the NA group but sometimes it's hit or miss, with different meetings and people relapsing and whatnot out there, but here it's constant and uplifting always. I so appreciate this little spot here on the net. It keeps me going, it keeps me feeling connected, it keeps me sane. Thank you so much
I didn't know you were a nursey type Glitter - I'll call you Officer...Officer Glitter LOL
thanks for posting - you too, Jmed to you both
I find a lot of unity and support - community really- here on SR too J

LOL glitter! I know what you mean. I worked one night shift thru a bad snow storm. The patients saw me from 7pm till about 1 pm the next day, a very long shift. Somehow they all thought I slept when they slept, one asked me if I'd had some good sleep, same nurse on for 16 hours, yeah I look, smell real fresh. They don't understand. They think we are invincible.
I used to work nights....in an ICU so patients were almost ALWAYS confused. Poor people. Those are some of the "nice" things I was called.
The guy who called me officer did it while I was searching for my name badge that I dropped in his bed. Of course the whole night he complianed that he was being held against his will. He thought he was in jail and I was patting him down! LMAO!!

Isn't that the truth med??
The way my ICU was set up, there was an RN at the bedside/in the room 24/7. I don't know how many times I would be asked, "isn't it time for you go to bed now?" Some patients didn't understand that I was actually titrating their drips, measuring the output of their various tubes every hour and managing their care in general.
Or a patient would wake up and ask how I slept? LOL!

I know Glitter, I have dreams about mine. I just know there is hope still for us and hope that we will be able to be responsible nurses or just plain able to do something that is contributing. I just know somehow it will all work out, it's an exercise right now in patience and learning tolerance and learning about ourselves right now. We've given so much and we got a bit burned out and we're recharging and I do believe that somehow it will work out. This is one of those we will appreciate it much more when it's in hindsight, it's hard right now. Here's a hug honey.((((((Glitter))))))
Yes I meant that for everyone here, there's hope for every single one of us. They kept telling us in rehab we weren't saved from addiction to do nothing or be nothing, we all have worth, I hope I did not offend anyone, it was meant not just for nursey types but for everyone.
I've never seen that show Glitter. I figured it was scripted. I never watched those ER shows either I guess after being there all day I wasn't excited about it. And I don't know anyone having affairs and being all that interested in the other workers, nobody had time for that stuff.
