Day 3
Still very depressed and not thinking clearly.
Very nervous and trying not to drink just to get some peace.
Either that or not feeling good enough.
I think that's what get me started in the first place.
Thanks

I've got a case of the 'not good enoughs', as well, Magnolia. Think it played a role in my drinking too. Not as a stand alone, but as part of my overall feelings of lack of self worth; self loathing, and overall mixed up person. I'm over 2 years sober, and still trying to deal with the way I feel about myself. But so much better now.
It seems pretty common to many of us here from what I can see. The need to be 'perfect'. Goodness knows whom I'm trying to please, or to impress? I'm learning that I only need to impress myself now Magnolia, even if this means 'simply' to remain sober. After that everyone else can go jump. It's good enough for me.
Simply by continuing the way you are, in not drinking, makes you totally good enough Magnolia. It's the first step. No longer punishing yourself with the cruelty of alcohol, but nurturing that part of you who knows deeply, you really are good enough. Let it grow Magnolia.
Congratulations on Day 3.

Things will get better if you stay away from the drink. after a week you should start to feel better and sleep better. Give it time, don't give up! It's so worth it. Everything gets better - your skin, your bloat, your sleep. Your thinking and focus will come back. Take a before picture and see the changes in your face. Eat right, stay away from junk food. Focus on your health. Stay strong!
Good luck to you!!!

Magnolia, huge congratulations on three days. Do not underestimate each and every day - early on, sure, they feel more significant (because they really are), but every single day you battle through and make it out the other side is a colossal win. And a win from huge efforts. Really well done.
Great going, Magnolia. By tomorrow you should start to see an overall improvement and feel better.
Day three at the beginning is really a huge accomplishment! Some people never get that far.
We're here for you, just keep posting and don't drink, you'll make it through.
