s.n.o.w.

Still snowing.

Still have power. I left the heat up too high in the bedroom last night and woke up with a headache under my pile of blankets.

The snow is pretty, I'll enjoy it when the sun comes up!

Temps here on the Western side of the Rocky Mountains ain't bad this Weekend. Good enough that I'm away to Recycle stuff momentarily, and retrieve our Mail from the Post Office. Kids here in Redneck Nation still race around drinking Long Necks, and bash in Mail Boxes with Baseball Bats. Truf. Meanwhile, Meth Heads steal Mail to nab Credit Card Numbers, or Checks. And, they laboriously patch back together shredded Bills left in Bags to pull off ID Theft. Once I heard the local Sheriff on the Radio some Years ago attest to these - um - creative practices, we started Life over here a *widdle differwently* than practiced in the Suburbs prior.

Advantages here include Sunsets like this one yesterday. And, Back-Up Generators for the Cell Towers during Power Outages.

I can never follow these threads but the toolbox caught my eye Nearing 3 months sober, my most useful tools have been hands down from the SMART program, especially the ones for managing drinking urges and maintaining motivation. I think they made a gigantic difference and literally saved my life, I'll be grateful forever. Other than that, just having a rewarding life with some routine and good habits: exercise, good nutrition, sleep, meditation, interesting profession and regular challenges.

Have a great weekend everyone!

So angry this morning! It was supposed to warm up and it did a bit, but it's still -35c. I am NOT going outside in this. It's just not okay.
so, I'm still super depressed

MesaMan, that’s terrible having mail stolen. People would be wary of posting their mail. Beautiful picture.

Good to see you Aellyce, congratulations on your upcoming 3 months!

Samantha that is so cold! Hope you find something to occupy you indoors.

I totally understand this, Samantha.

We are doing a bit better in Calgary but this extreme cold leaves me housebound, stir crazy and depressed.

Happy Valentine’s Weekenders ❤️

There’s been a lot of covers made for post boxes around the U.K. I thought this one was cute.

Well my letter box doesn't seem to be brimming, must all be arriving later!

I did get in trouble once, I was working in a hotel bar and my then boyfriend came in with a big bouquet and stayed for a coffee. Whilst he was there a courier delivered a much bigger bouquet for me from a customer that had been pursuing me. It was awkward to say the least.

Those days are long gone now, no romance, no flowers, just wrinkles.

Happy Heart day.

We still have hearts, even if they are un-attached or unemcumbered.

I don't buy chocolate very often because of the orangutans (don't get me started ) but I have a chocolate pearl ring that I bought myself one Valentines Day (my birthstone) and I've been wearing it this week. It's beautiful and non-fattening and doesn't hurt the apes...me included.

I still have power. This is most excellent. It's supposed to keep snowing and then turn to rain today which could still be a problem as it's been so cold that it could slip back and forth to freezing rain which of course the big fir trees are not going to stand for. Pun intended. At least rain means warmer temperatures so that if the power goes out it won't be any kind of emergency.

Blessings on this wintry white day. Ya'll are in my heart.

That post box thing is cute, Magsie.

Bim, I just checked orangutans on google. I didn’t know that!! If I do buy chocolate I will be sure to check what it’s made from online, I won’t be buying that stuff .
Pleased your power is still on.

It's not just chocolate. It's the palm oil in Everything. Like every baked item (cookies, boxed treats, frozen desserts, ice cream, pies,) on the shelf. Hair conditioner. Lotion. Soap. Cake mixes. Nut milks, on and on.

Just for the record, there aren't really "sustainable" palm oils. I still buy some stuff because it's nearly impossible not to but I see my friend Melati's face every time I do (zoo orang)...Like I said, don't get me started.

Talking of snow, a man in Scotland was stopped by police for driving his car with almost zero visibility. This is the car.

Kaily, the driver needed stopping! What was he thinking.

Bim, I didn’t know where palm oil was from, I’ll be checking ingredients more carefully from now on. I’m speechless!
