Afternoon Weekenders

Midnight, I hope you’re feeling more yourself soon. When winter is looming round the corner we call it getting the ‘doldrums’ feeling out of sorts.

Willow, great photos. He’s got a good catch there.

Kaily, the weather is miserable here too. I hope your phone appointment goes well. (I’ve got one soon too). The pathology lab will be nice and quiet if you’re going there for your blood tests. Did you take pics of your scratches on your car? I’m sure you have, but always best to.

Snoozy, good to see you love.

I’m a bit out of sorts with the asthma. And I get similar symptoms as Covid so advised to have a test, which I got back as negative last night. So having a doctor phone appointment later.

See you later. xx

Hope all goes with your appointment, Mags.

My next GP appointment is a tele-visit, also.

Willow, great shot; that osprey (big bird) had a fine dinner. Maybe he or she shared with a special date.

Kaily, hope you can have those paint chips repaired.

MidnightBlue, hope that today is a cheerier one for you.

Snoozy, no need for tail between the legs; so good to have you back with us.

Have a wonderful day, all.

It shouldn't take them long to fix those paint chips. Things like that are annoying, I have been in touch with my smartphone service provider as they have just tried to pull a fast one (EE)

Great photos Willow. Could be an Eastern Osprey.

Fell over at work and mildly sprained my ankle. The humiliation was much worse than the discomfort. It also put a hole in the knee of my jeans, they now look like something my daughters would wear. Fine for them but not for an old biffa like me.

Sao, this wasn’t during the annual chair race where you ended up on the podium a year or so ago? I hope that your ankle heals quickly.

owen90, I hope you are just being a bit quiet but still doing well.

Not too much to report on my side which isn’t all that bad.

Sorry Saou, I’m not laughing at you but the way you said it. I hope you’re not too bruised and you could always get a patch for your jeans.

Oh Sao, y daisy. At least it wasn't a drunken fall. Go easy on your ankle and heal quickly. Maybe you can make some face masks out of the jeans, waste not want not.

Yes I have been wondering where Owen has gone too. Hopefully just busy Chefing.

My car is getting done next week.

Hi, everyone)

Thank you for the kind words.

Cityboy - will do)

I just finished watching The Last Dance. Never been a fan of basketball, but this documentary is brilliant.

One of the closing quotes that Michael Jordan dropped in the last episode was "I could never accept not trying".

Keep it up, weekenders.

See you)

Hi MB

Actually, Hi everyone!

I don’t know my birds very well, but I think it was an osprey, I know we have them around here. I have a bird book, I really should study it a bit more

Mags I hope your asthma settles down soon and your appointment goes well.

Sao, rest that ankle. I hope it’s not too painful.

Wednesday morning and I’m feeling really lazy. I’m back in bed with a cup of tea

Just for the sake of sharing. I have a couple of friends who work fire rescue. I started getting copied last night on their fitness challenge that they are doing right now. They are challenging each other to do 25 pushups for 25 consecutive days. Doesn't sound too bad (trying to remember last time I did 25 pushups). Each day they have to do a video of themselves doing the pushups and send it to someone else, and challenge them to do the same. They started it to also increase awareness of PTSD. I had not thought about that many first responders suffer from PTSD, but apparently so.

Morning Weekenders

Kaily, what a great idea, very innovative making masks from your torn jeans Saou. Hope your ankle is ok
Kaily, I saw Owen on 24 thread, I’m not sure when though.

CityBoy, your friends do a marvellous and brave job. I’m sorry it has it’s repercussions for them.

Leigh, glad you’re hanging in there love. I hope they will get to the bottom of your illness love.

Kaily I hope your doc phone appt went well.

I got a course of anti biotics from the doc phone appt yesterday. I’d wrote a list of everything I knew he needed to know., blood oxygen, temperature, blood pressure, symptoms etc. If I don’t write it down, I forget.

Weather is windy and raining here. It’s wheelie bin collection day too.

You know it’s hard to believe I used to inflict illness on myself most days in the guise of an hangover. You’ll probably understand what I mean. However bad the hangover was, I couldn’t wait to getting that first drink again. One drink was too much, ten drinks was not enough. Glad I’m not on that roller coaster anymore.

See you later. Take care. xx

Hope your asthma settles down Mags.

Well done to your friends Cityboy.

I had to wait 25 minutes at the hospital yesterday for my blood test, not complaining, just an observation that things are getting back to normal. Got another Drs appointment this morning, in real life. They want to look at my toenail as it has gone a funny colour, its had no trauma. It was tested for a fungal nail infection which came back negative. I quite look forward to actually speaking to someone that isn't Alfie, albeit briefly.

Here is a prototype of Sao's mask.

Thanks for the early morning chuckle Kaily. For the record, I probably talk to our dogs as much or more than any person.

I probably won't thanks Kaily.

Day off today, I didn't fancy the Underground.

Add my respects to the firefighters, how are things today with the fires?

Evening everyone.

It’s not too often now that I get shouted at by the AV, but it happened this afternoon. Taking the dog for an afternoon walk I had to pick up a pooh, like any responsible dog-owing citizen would. When I opened a nearby municipal rubbish bin to dispose of my little plastic bag, I was stared in the face by at least six flattened cider cans (well known brand) and a bag full of empty lager bottles. It really jumped out at me. For a moment there I thought about having just a couple of drinks, either today or at some later stage. It was intense but passed after a while.

Kaily and Mags, all the best with your niggles.

Yes, hats off to the firemen.
