Evening all,

Another weekend in the bag. Too much strawberry trifle this evening (an unusual complaint in this household) as a celebration after decorating our Christmas tree. I bought a new pack of LED lights for it and they are dazzlingly bright to say the least.

Well done Andy on your two and a half years - great stuff, and well done Red on making progress.

Hi Bim - it's certainly on the horizon now unless I seriously screw up :-) My anti - AV plan is firmly in place...

Two a day is my maximum allowance for now :-)

Anyway, stuff to do... Warm wishes as ever. Forwards.

What?!? weekends done? Well at least there are only two days of work left (in all reality 1 1/2 ~ maybe less, I don't expect anyone in the office to be working hard on the 24th) .
g'night.

Morning all.
Thats cool snoozy.
I would love to meet up with SR friends one day. We are not too many in the south of France.

Congratulations (in advance) Forwards.
Major achievement.

Hi Weekenders

Snoozy and PJ , that’s great news you meeting up. can’t you get the fairies and elves to do your housework

Vinny , I’m same, no one round me that I know of on SR. Though a few in U.K.

Just back from market. It opened at 7.30 am and was nice and quietish but was getting much busier as we left.

Visiting a friend shortly. Looking forward to a quiet day Wednesday, but not tempting fate.

See you later.

Pretty quiet around the thread this week.

The floodwaters have majorly receded, so that's good.

There are quite a few SR members who live within an hour's drive from me. One local ex-Weekender and I are in touch by text and we keep saying we should get together. I'll believe it when I see it.

Monday and another sober weekend in the books! Yay! Onward to the new decade.

Eaglet feeding at 7:52 AM on the feed clock in the upper left corner. The second egg hasn't hatched. That happened two or three years ago, too. We'll see, I don't know if it still will...maybe an only child this year. More fish for him/her...

It is quiet, is there some sort of event happening in the next few days that I've forgotten about?

I have just got home, left work at 4pm on the dot. It seems busy out but not as busy as years gone by.

This song by Pastor T L Barrett and the Youth for Christ Choir is not specifically Christmas related but very good nonetheless.

Good track Sao, didnt ever come across that before.

Howdy Bim

I'm here waiting to taste some foie gras.
My mother inlaw has landed. She's OK rather discreet, she has had her share of suffering too... I get on pretty well with her.

See you all later

Fairies and Elves clean houses???!!!
I thought they were spiders that needed putting outside (except for the ones with big red dots on their backs..)

Hello weekenders -
I have been quite busy with holiday preparations. Both for Christmas and for my upcoming holiday in Belize. I just did what I hope is the last bit of shopping before Christmas. Just a few odds and ends and some groceries. It's busy in my little town. Everyone had the same idea.

Presents all wrapped, house nearly clean enough. Tomorrow I'll do the last bit of cleaning, and start baking for when my family comes on Wednesday. I'm just making a lemon tart and some apple cinnamon muffins (dairy free muffins for my son). Then I'll pack up my suitcase, so that I know if there is anything else I need to shop for on Thursday or Friday.

6 months ago when I started planning this trip, it seemed so far away. Now it's almost here!

If anyone is struggling with the whole holiday season thing, don't be afraid to speak up. I know it's a difficult time for many folks. It used to be for me, for various reasons. I'm ok with it now, but I know how it feels to be lonely or in pain at Christmas.

Hi Weekenders

It’s Christmas Eve just. Nearly 12.30 am I’d like to say I’ve been busy preparing for Christmas but I’ve really been trying to get over a cold. So muddling through at the mo.

Going to see if my cat wants to come in. She snook out so I’ll probably hear her when she sees the neighbours cat. They don’t get on.

I see lady in the van film is on tv, starring Maggie Smith. It’s based on a true story and very touching and poignant.

See you later. x

Sorry about your dog Pouncer, take care.

Good to see you HeadEast.

Marley is a happy looking pooch VMan

I seemed to spend most of yesterday evening on the phone to relatives that I won't be seeing over the Christmas period.

It is my youngest daughter's birthday today so I did see her yesterday, she bought a pair of clod-hopping platform soled trainers with her birthday money. Short day today, I finish work at 1pm.

I second what MLD51 said about speaking up if you are struggling over Christmas. Excessive drinking isolates us and that feeling of loneliness is heightened over the festive week. so do post if you are struggling.
