Snoozy, I’m glad your friend and her animals are safe love,

Yeah, I can’t remember last time I had a craving and as Rose said it’s a good reminder that the AV is there, however long we’re sober. Having a plan is vital.

Dec 20, 7:21 AM on the feed clock, and again at 7:41 AM.

Fluffball gets a bite.

Bim, that's a heart-melting picture. The power in that beak, the gentleness in movement, and the fragility of the utterly dependant fluff ball fledgling. Nature is quite miraculous.

I do hope your kitty is bearing up.

Hi Fluffball!

I am up to 3 mince pies now. Fortunately I have an Einstein rivaling mathematical equation for how many mince pies you can have:-

E = M+1

Where the value of E equals the number of mince pies you want to Eat and
M equals the number of Mince pies you have already eaten.

The equation seems to working so far...

To Snoozy, Dee and Phoenix and all who live in Australia, I hope you all stay well. I'm so upset at the loss of wildlife, to be honest, I have to put it out of my mind, because I just can't bear to think of the mind-blowing tragedy of the loss of life and the loss of habitat of any remaining life.

I'm so glad Angie and her animals are still safe, Snoozy.

Hi Weekenders - I'm in once again, now for my 51st sober weekend.

Thanks Mags for the thread. Christmas this year so far has been easier than last. My Christmas presents have been bought well in advance and dispatched around the country to friends and relatives, my work projects are all where they should be and to top it all my Christmas tree has just arrived! It is such a blessing not to be consumed with constant thoughts of drinking.

Hi Sao, mince pies... hmm... the nice young lady shopkeeper where I bought mine last night said she had eaten an entire pack, warm with cream. I'm trying not to do the same.

Hello to our Aussie friends. My thoughts are with you facing the fires. I can't really imagine being in the thick of it - it must be terrifying.

Thanks for the Eaglet updates Bim - lovely to watch.

Anyway, warm wishes to all as always. I'll be staying close. Forwards.

Home Woot!

My youngest daughter went to see this newish trio from north London a few days ago and reckons they are really something. 149 views on YouTube, that really is cult status. It did sound pretty good though so who knows.

Yesterday could have been so much worse. 47C with strong, hot-very dry north winds (that means coming down from deserts and arid country- 'up North').
Today it is 25C. Almost surreal. Hundreds were hospitalized with heat related conditions. 4 days of 40, 42,4 then 47C. Unfortunately this sirt of weather is going to be more the norm, I think.

I hit a physical (body) yesterday. It was like sticking my head into a hot oven being outside. My bod just called out 'enough'! I need to be more cognisant of this. Up until now- I have pushed myself with most everything I do- to show myself I am committed to a positive recovery., But 47C is too much. Much better today.

Big hugs and much love to all my Australian sober buddies and hope your are all doing ok and are safe xx

It felt like the holidays would never come, super happy to have 2 weeks off! My boiler got fixed but wasn’t cheap, I am lucky to have got a plumber to come out this time of year so quick so for that I am very very grateful.

The new place I am working at on a year fixed term contract might have an opportunity for a Manager role on a permanent basis. The new Head of Department has said if it comes through and gets approved that he thinks I would be perfect for it. I am not holding my breath or getting to carried away until something concrete is offered and the salary has to be right but I am definitely keen and it would be great to settle somewhere. Let’s see what the New Year brings!

Time to go and make a loaf of homemade bread, have a good day peeps x

That would be awesome, Manta!

At 7:21AM on the eagle live feed time clock the two-day-old fluffy bobblehead chows down.

the male eagle saw that little chick and went on a hunting frenzy. There is now enough fish and dead stuff in the nest to feed four full grown eagles. That's a good papa.

Oh, it's Saturday already? Sober Saturday morning never gets old.

Hi all.

Late to the gig but IN.
I was reading through the OP and I thought this feels like Gilmer and then saw the quote. Weird. Hard to believe it's nearly a year...

Really disastrous news about those fires. Hang tough aussie friends. Stay safe.

Welcome fluffball.

Congratulations Andy and great news for you too Manta.

The countdown is on now for the 25th.
Mini vman is very excited

Hello to everyone and happy holidays..

See you all soon.

"Atmospheric River." That is what the TV news lady is calling 4" of rain in 24 hours.

Is that name a thing now? I haven't watched TV in years and only watched the current weather video - I live on a real ground-level river and it's on Flood Watch, so I've been paying attention as the river creeps onto my property. I had to cover the windows because it has been freaking me out. I live between two hills that could slide at any time with this intense saturation, too. My car is parked far away just in case.

Aussies, please can I send you some rain? If only, eh?

Mother Nature is just reminding us we're not in charge. Having trouble believing in a Higher Power? Try to will the clouds to either drop rain or not...

Hi, weekenders.

Hope everyone is safe in Australia.

I am ok overall, still struggling with "flatness of life".

My gym is throwing a pool party today (indoor it is), I wasn't really in the mood but decided to drag myself out of spleen, so going there.

See you)
