I have been trying to quit for a long long time too. It is hard and it seems impossible at times but it can be done. I really believe its all about finding the right support. Thoughts and prayers are with you.

Day 2 - I woke up at 6am and immediately signed into SR to read more of your inspiring messages to me. I still feel really bad with zero self respect and loads of shame.

Everyone single one of you has helped me so much, you have no idea.

Honor God, honor my new SR family and honor myself.

Im going to think those 3 things all day long over and over again and maybe, just maybe that mantra will replace my alcohol thinking mantra.

I am going to post every day - atleast I am alive on Day 2 my friends.'

Love and HUGS

Hey Jay, this probably hasn’t dawned on you, but if you do the right things, you can actually do this. You can put that shame behind you. This is not something that only other people can do. We’ve all been where you are. You’re not unique in that way. So you won’t be unique in recovering.

Glad to see the day 2 note, whitejay! And those first few days were desperately hard for me physically, and it all takes time...and we have to focus on whatever we need to be sober today, each hour, even minute. Let us know how today keeps going. You can do this.

Day 2 together all the way.
Im drenched in sweat, having bad dreams, body aches...........
Having another day 2 friend lessens all that.
Hugs

Hang in there whitejay, as bad as that is it will worth it to rid your body of poison. As a precaution have your doctors number to hand and make sure you stay hydrated.

Very glad to read your post - these early days are rough - but then you never have to revisit them.

Day 3 my friends - my hands are steady today so I can type faster.
Got up and cleaned house a little, ate a boiled egg, went back to bed.

slowly slowly getting better

My new mantra: Honor God (he has saved my life so many times)
honor my new SR friends who also have saved my life, and honor myself (for once).

I cant wait for the day I am well enough to help others.

Love and HUGS

Day 3 is amazing.
Well done.
I hope you are proud of yourself?

I remember when I did one day, then 2 days, then a week, then a month, then a year.
I'm on Year 7 now.

All i kept doing was 1 day at a time.
Nothing was more important than going to bed sober.
Don't you think sober mornings rock too?
