Hood, we talked this morning. He is gonna help me all he can and he is cutting out the drink through the week, I told him never to ask me to buy him anymore. He agreed. Think he is just scared like me that it will take over my life again, so here's hoping I can keep the monster at bay

Regarding your husband, it must be irritating that he won’t offer to support you in your decision to quit. But think how jealous he’ll be, when he witnesses you waking up refreshed and sober, and he feels rough! He might just think about joining you then.

Oops, when I said brilliant news, I wasn’t responding to the post directly above about bad stomach, etc 😀 I mean it’s brilliant news your husband wants to cut down.
As for the sleeplessness and bad stomach, you’re in withdrawal mode. It’ll get better very soon.

If you want to get to an AA meeting, try ringing their local office and have a talk with who ever answers about getting a lift to the meetings.
It's a pretty common thing in AA. One alcoholic helping another.
On a personal note, I remember those drinks ... forcing it in, vomiting some up, but just keep pouring them in and eventually one stays down. I guarantee you won't miss it lol

Well it's Thursday, started last Friday, and I'm still doing good, not one craving so far, I think I just know it's my time to quit, still very tired and my bones are in agony. arthritis you see, funny when I was drinking I never felt the pain so much. But this pain is better than the turmoil in my body caused by drink. Been keeping busy I'm trying to sew wee jumpers for my dog, also my daughter is moving house so helping a bit there, my husband never did stop his nightly drinking. But that's his choice I'm just gonna look after me! Thanks for keeping in touch and hope you have a wonderful wee day x
You will feel better physically as days add up. I was really sleepy too in the beginning.
My husband still drinks too, and as time goes on it bothers me less and less.
You are doing a great job and a wonderful thing for yourself
