Oh Bob, you are going to be a wonderful grandpa.
Now....lots of water for you too, take a thermos or something to bed....I do every night. Living in the US (aussie here) means I have AC or heating on always, so I need to hydrate through the night. But the chest tightness is maybe something you should get checked out? If you have a doctor you like, I would go.

As we were talking about....it is stressful to think about losing sleep, but we lost really any decent quality of sleep while we were drinking.....so a little bit less sleep sober is kind of doable. And it will get better. I sleep so so well every night of my life now....as long as I stop talking long enough to allow us to get some sleep.....he he.

Morning all. I wish you all a very happy Monday. This is the first Monday I’ve woken up not a mess in a long time and I am actually looking forward to work! Going to do a quick gym session before to set me up for the day!

Morning everyone,

Up early with fitful sleep......but as venus says above it is better than a hangover.

Pete, good for going to the gym I do not have the energy this morning

Used the time to research and email a local alcohol and dependency counselling centre near me to request an appointment. Have never tried this before and it took me about 30 minutes to actually send the email....I am not sure what I am scared of but it made me feel very uneasy asking for help...

Hope today goes well.

Hello. Hope everyone's doing well. Would like to join the June group. I gave up in January and February, but the last few months I've had a couple of heavy drinking nights a week. Nothing particularly different about last night, but I feel more determined to be sober than I can remember in a long time.

I've reset my sober date to 17th June, 2019. I'm going to take one day at a time every day this week, and not having a sip of alcohol will be my #1 priority each day. Will keep close to soberrecovery!

Andy.

Good morning all. Woke up about once an hour all night, but still managed to get quite a bit of sleep. You sound better this morning RAL and you sound determined Time. Hope all goes well. Hi Strawberry. Congrats on being sober and good luck with the smokes. Pete, the grandchild is due in 1 week, but today is full moon, so we'll see. Hi Andy and New.

Thanks for the encouragement last night Venus.

Day 38 here still going strong doing more inner work than outer. Practicing mindfulness, accepting emotions instead of running from them. Not being nearly as impulsive and installing discipline. This is not going to be an overnight process but a pattern that must be repeated until it really sinks in and becomes natural instinct.

Good morning class and welcome to all the recent joiners! Feeling good being sober still but I'm fighting a nagging realization of knowing I'm avoiding my stark reality. I need to work on a list or something of what's coming up.
i still have rehab in a couple weeks or sooner if they have an opening. But after that I'm homeless and the safety net of the roof I currently have over my head will be gone. I have legal issues to address, massive credit problems to acknowledge. Belongings to sort through.
just stuff. Lots and lots of stuff to do.
I can't let myself get overwhelmed but I do need to get a few things in place.
Ugh!!!

Waiting it out

Good morning all,
I look forward to starting my day with you all. Running a bit behind due to lots of work emails but here I am.

I slept well but it is frustrating to have this dang headache. I've been at this stage before and I know it is my usual post-quitting headache. It starts about a week in and won't subside for another 3-4 days but it is really pounding. Maybe it's withdrawal, or maybe PAWS? I just have to move slow and try not to swing my head around too fast. Kinda like being hungover which is ironic.

Lots to do at work, then a new meeting afterwards - a new meeting I am anxious to try. So far I have attended 3 meetings in three different places so this will be a fourth.

Hope everyone has a good Monday.
D.

This is just huge.....

Feeling the fear and doing it anyway is so empowering, especially when it is such a very important thing to do for yourself.

I find it very hard to ask for help, with anything, ever. I am super-proud of you.

(((Daytrippin))) ♥

Ouch.

A couple of suggestions, if I may.

Are you drinking enough water? Maybe you need more? Often hydrating can help with headaches. But other than that, I think I would call my doctor. It could be blood pressure related, and maybe it would be good to get checked out?

Hoping your day isn't too hard with a bad head.....migraine person here, so I feel you.
