Wow, so much news in 18 posts.

In.

Sao Calendars are hard.

Manta, that looks like fun!

Everyone else, Hi!

It's gonna snow here! I better go buy milk and bread and pray the power doesn't go out. Like it always does. It's too cold for that to be a good thing. I would love to go to the zoo and see the Red Pandas in the snow - but ain't no way I'm going to drive an hour in snow. Nope.

Haha, edit to say, andyh - we had the same thought.

oh my gosh, this is from the last Weekenders thread, I had to repost this. How fascinating! No sarcasm!

If we are lucky he might teach us about teeth...

Dragon apparently there is a Canadian built car at Sao's work meeting...

Grasshoppers have gears??!!?? Who knew. That is cool.

I'm in for another glorious sober weekend. Tomorrow night my "boyfriend" and I are going out for dinner at our favorite semi-fancy place. We don't do Valentine's Day, as such, but, as he said, it reminds us to go eat at a nice place every once in a while. And this way we go out not on the actual day, when every restaurant on the planet is full of "happy couples." Yes, we are a bit cynical. I put "boyfriend" in quotes because we don't exactly define our relationship that way. It looks like that to the rest of the world, but for us it seems like too much pressure, so we just do things we both enjoy together, and leave it at that. There's never going to be a marriage (been there, done that, got the t-shirt, twice), so it works for us. Then Sunday we are going kayak shopping. He bought one last week, my turn now. Not sure any stores have their full displays out yet, but it gives us something to do, and dream about.

For anyone who is struggling to put a sober weekend behind them, stick around here, take good care of yourself, and remember to post first if you feel like a drink is a good idea. We will do our best to talk you out of it!

Ah, snap. Too bad I don't eat popcorn, Vinny)

And I think that your boss definitely should give you a Friday off - it's an important part of the recovery process.

Welcome back to the light, trudgingagain.

Sober Saturday morning never gets old, stick around.

Do you have plans for how you'll avoid having another Day One?

When I was done, I was done. Even though I wanted to drink, I had made the commitment. You'll know when you know.

Do you think you're ready to be done?

I am SO ready...and I have made the commitment. Using SR hellped me before, so I am going to start here. AA is just not for me. I have been to meetings, worked the steps with a sponsor, etc. I am going to try to figure out a "new" plan. I may try Rational Recovery, or one of the other programs....I DO know that this is a "one day at a time" challenge...and I am going to be sober today!

Well done on reaching100 days Kaily! It was sometime shortly after reaching three figures that I stopped knowing how many days I had gone without calculating it, a good sign.

Sorry about the spat with your son Dragon, I have no experience with sons to call on.

I ended up going in to work and saying my client had to cancel at the last minute. Not the best Friday I have ever had but I suppose at least I won't get drunk like I used to. Storm Erik is making its presense felt here.

I found my $300 noise cancelling headphones! They are excellent for muting the sounds of construction...which are many. I'm not sure why I ever thought it was a good idea to spend that much money on headphones, but I'm glad I did.

I found there's a diagnosis/neurosis for sound sensitivity. I have that. Of course. Thanks, WebMD

These headphones are amaaaaazing!

The possibility of snow has the whole city in a panic. Go to KOMO 4 news. I mean, we're talking about 3-8 inches and they're telling people to stay home. The schools are closing early. The store shelves are empty. So much fear! I only worry about power-outs. One year we didn't have power for four days...not sure where I would go if that happened. Maybe the Caymans?

Dangit. Passp0rt is expired.

I moved here from northern California, high up in the Sierra Mountains. THEY have snow events. Feet, not inches.

A couple of flakes of snow in the U.K. and the whole country grinds to a halt! Hope you are stocked up Bim xx

I had forgotten what it’s like to go out, the “what am I going to wear” thang. I want to look good in case I see people I used to know lol. Can’t be turning up with unbrushed hair a moustache and smelling of cat pea being the cat lady I am haha! x

Yeh Manta. Well, "stocked up" if we have power. I don't have a lot of bread, but I have heatable grains.

I'm thinking if the power goes out I can't stay here more than 12 hours anyway - it's in the 20sF - that's about minus 7 in Celsius?

Hey everyone! I’m looking forward to a sober weekend with all of you. Supposedly, we’re finally going to get some snow so I am excited for that.

Kaily, congratulations on 100 days!
