Here’s a truth;

In sobriety we don’t need to waste our lives with speculation over things like how many units may or may not be in a given type of alcohol.

We can simply let go of the need to care about that, and focus on living and loving life.

I hope you find your way there

Hi taplow. Do you think you would be willing to throw the rest of the alcohol away and sleep it off. I know from your posts that you are an intelligent person, and you know that posting on SR claims that alcoholism is not that bad is not really going to get you a positive reaction so I wonder if when you have slept this off and are sober you could try to understand what it is you are really angry about. I used to lash out and become argumentative when I was drunk, it was always due to something else that was bothering me but whoever was in my path at that time would get the anger directed at them. Please throw away what you have, get some sleep, tomorrow is a new day and you can decide what you want to do then?

Take care and look after yourself. xx

In the UK of those receiving HIV care in 2015:

41,945 (48%) were exposed through sex between a man and a woman

41,016 (47%) were exposed through sex between men

1,909 (2%) were exposed from injecting drug use

1,383 (less than 2%) were exposed before or shortly after birth

753 were exposed from blood/receiving blood products. This latter category only included people exposed outside of the UK, as this is no longer a route of transmission within the UK.

There are also 1,763 cases which have not been categorised by one of these routes.

You can of course claim that the above figures are lies.

Experts are called experts because they have expertise in specialist subjects, they work with facts not fiction.

Sadly we now live in a world where those who are crying out about fake news and disinformation are often the very same people who are spreading fake news and disinformation.

You sound like a very kind and caring person MantaLady. I'm starting to believe that it's a truth that if you care for others it helps you too.
I'm thinking that you're saying that my post here on this forum questioning how dangerous alcohol is, is some kind of aggressive act.
I didn't know that I was doing that. All I meant was that we might be being sold some kind of blanket uniformity.
I saw my 94 year neighbour trimming his roses las week. I went out and helped him. While I was walking away with his garden waste, he fell over - it was in slow motion. I picked him up - I wasn't sure it was a good thing to do, but I did. I asked him if I could do anything for him and asked me if I could go round to the shop and buy him a bottle of Bells whisky and a bottle of red wine - nothing else mattered.
I don't know what that's got to do with anything.

Please resist sniping at each other.

It does not belong anywhere on the boards, especially not in the Newcomers Forum.

Thank you.

Agreed. I also like to remember there's a person behind the screen who is going through a hell of a time. I was on a large IRC (chatroom) for alcoholics and quitting. Once some guy was very offensive towards with me with bad language. I attempted to snap back but was jumped on by the entire channel. At first I thought it was a little unfair, but I was taken aside and told that people going through alcoholism are in a bad place with serious problems and its important to let them vent and communicate.

And then I look back to how angry and horrible I was when I was an alcoholic, and how people forgave me countless times.

That's how I see it here. If I offend anyone it's most definitely not intended and if someone offends me I take it on the chin and let it pass.

Sometimes I go back and read my past threads(I did last night) and I was a mess! I was never rude or anything(I don't think),but I sure had some bizzare 'plans'/ideas

Tap...dump the booze, bud and start fresh after some rest. Hang in there.

Keep it family friendly and it might be a good idea to get the topic back onto recovery.

Thanks, MG,

And, more posts were removed because complaints about Moderators/Admins need to be kept to PM, not on the boards.
