Weekender Thread 1-5 March 2018
I managed to cut my finger yesterday and got blood over the cooker, the kitchen worktop, the fridge, the floor and the loaf of bread I was slicing. The annoying thing is that it is such a tiny cut but being on the index finger it is hard not to use it. At least it was a talking point for last nights "do."
The snow has melted rapidly today, I enjoyed it while it lasted.

Ugh! What a day so far. I cut my toe and got blood all over everything. Then I went to the ATM and the &^@% thing ate my card. I had to cancel the card and order a new one. I need it next week. I guess I'll have to use some checks, if I can find any! Gotta keep laughing or smiling.
Quit my job! Haha... I gave them two months notice - or until they can find a replacement. So today is my first 'free' Monday since the fall.
Lots to do around here. And with spring fishing coming up, I plan to explore the far reaches of small rivers and unnamed streams searching for native/wild trouts this spring. I still plan to capture my share of local stocked trout as compensation for the license fee, and hopefully save up around 50 for the smoker. If I don't take some while they are there, others will and they do their best to eradicate them by June. But wild trout are strictly off limits from killing.
Was psyched to do spring clean up in the yard and prepare vegetable beds - but the weatherman says another winter storm is coming.

Aly, I don't know if your bank does it but mine can issue temp cards while you wait for your replacement card. You have to go in a branch to get one.
Brain, break out the barbless hooks!

Bummer about the ATM card Aly... Which reminds me, as a cashier the past few months, I've seen them chewed up by dogs, broken almost in half, chips falling out, etc. ... It was a great clientele. I had one guy come in with two (2) count em 2 different cards and I had to charge 2.97 to one and 5 dollars to another, then take cash for the rest... and the guy who works at a car wash or something who come in with a jar of the nastiest filthy coins... disgusting... one of the contributing factors to my short lived retail experience... I washed my hands 20 times a day... what a place, same guy came in every day for his 2 peach and one mango-ritas 26 oz cans... it was a trip.
So anyway, with Easter being on April 1st this year I thought it would be a good idea to give the kids an Easter Basket to collect eggs in the yard, except not actually hide any eggs. Then after a half hour to an hour of them searching yell, "April Fool!"

LB, good call quitting your job. At a beer store.
You guys got me thinking about fish so I had fish 'n chips for dinner last night. (Alaskan Cod) pretty dang tasty. Unfortunately I have an association I'm having trouble breaking regarding this fish restaurant. It's in the strip mall attached to a big grocery store and I've gotten in the habit of buying ice cream on the way past the grocery store as I leave. So it was Butter Pecan for dessert. Also tasty! Only 1900 calories over my goal. Yay? I guess I skip breakfast today.
I did my yearly doctor appointment yesterday. I had the same doctor for 30 years and since she retired four years ago I haven't found anyone I particularly like. The one yesterday is a young woman and she is really loud and that put me on edge from the get-go. Fercryinoutloud - I'm right here, two feet away from you in a 8 X 8 room, ya don't have to speak so loudly. *sigh* I'll keep looking.
Hair appointment today. With my nice quiet hairdresser. That should fix it.
