Weekender Thread 1-5 March 2018

The walk to the beach is a mile and a half of hilly terrain, so I'll be warm when I hit the open beach. Tank top for just a few minutes and then layer-back-up. It's only forecast to be getting up to 48*F today, so.
Not Cayman Islands warm.

My mom and I are going to lunch today later. My poor dog has really bad separation anxiety, so we have to tranquilize him just to go to lunch or he destroys things. He's a great dog in every other way though. He's been through a lot, so I can understand. Animals can be so healing.
I don't have a lot going on, so far this weekend. It's good to see my friends on this thread!

Hello weekender types. Windy here yesterday with some damage, but not too bad in my area. I was twenty miles (32 km) away from the snow line. My thoughts are with all who were impacted by that storm.
Edit, we did get an inch or so of snow early, but not much.

The beach was bee-you-tee-full. I saw a big sea lion patrolling the shoreline, about a hundred dogs and - I am so hungry.
Turkey kielbasa, potatoes, cabbage and carrots in a skillet on the stove...any second now the timer will beep.
I'm showered and happy and in for the night. Fantastic Saturday! Down comforter and the couch is looking good right now.

I was hanging out with my son who is visiting this weekend from out of town and as I was driving home late tonight I was reflecting on how awesome it is to be sober and to be able to jump in to a car at any time of day or night not having to worry. I usually would take the back roads to avoid traffic/police - but I was able to drive the main roads. Glanced around at a few of the bars I would normally have been in at that time of night - parking lots full of cars and I didn't feel an ounce of regret. I was actually glad to be headed home where it was quiet; no chaos or drama. I've had this type of experience before, but just had to share again as it just never gets old for me.....I love being sober!
