Spring is sprung weekender 3-5 march
I went for a run - Man I was bad its going to take a while to get anywhere - but that was my first run in a long time ( run is a vet loose term by the way )
Been going the gym Tuesday and Thursday for the past couple of weeks but I think a run really is the hardest thing.
I got quite good about 4 years ago so I'm like starting from new
But do you know what I loved it -
One sweaty tomato haha

I'm trying to get back into running again. I've been running for 10 years. When I quit drinking in October, I had to stop running due to being so tired all the time. Then my feet, legs, knees, hips and other parts began getting stiff and achy probably due to rebound inflammation. I've been trying since the start of the year to re-start. I've had good runs, but I'm still also having some difficulty and getting discouraged. Sometimes my feet and legs will just not take it and other times I have no problems at all. Guess I've just got to give it some more time.
Something I read online about how the liver overproduces a type of cell to deal with toxins getting into your system due to 'leaky gut'. (damage caused to your gut barrier by alcohol). And how after quitting and your body starts repairing the substance produced by these cells continues to circulate and can cause things like joint pain and swelling.

Cracklelog, sorry that you are feeling lonely. One of the side effects of drinking is that it can mask things like loneliness but by removing the pain of that suffering it also reinforces it. I'm hopeful that once you have accrued decent amount of sober time you will be in a positiin to address the issue of loneliness and be able to meet people and make new friends. If you stick with it long term sobriety does bring some self confidence because we all know how hard it is to get to that position. If you can quit drinking then changing other aspects of your life becomes easier.
After a fairly grim Weekend weather wise Monday looks like being a more settled day. Typical!

Good luck with the studying BC
I have also had to curtail my running recently as I suffer from arthritis. The trouble is that running along the canal towpath is easily the best as there are no roads or traffic to deal with, only other runner. Trouble is I really need to run on grass to reduce the wear and tear. To compensate I have been running shorter distances but at a somewhat faster pace. It will have to do.

Good morning everyone, The Giraffe is waiting for her breakfast.
I'm finding that I get good runs out of doing intervals on the treadmill. 1 minute walk, 4 minute run. I can do that for an hour. But I really want to transition to the track, soon it'll be nice enough to run outside. Maybe I'll get myself a timer and try intervals on the track. It wouldn't hurt to loos a few pounds too. (Or is that 'stones').
