I think I'll get a bird feeder, too. I have a good hook where I can put it up away from squirrels and cats. Nice tip about the safflower seeds, Bix.

Ok. So I took today off work. My delegate will attend my terrible Monday meeting later today. I find I don't give a whit about it. I thought I'd worry all day, but I certainly am not a bit worried about that meeting.

Today I plan to:
-work on some OTHER things for my job, that will make the rest of the week better and more productive. Maybe will keep me out of some trouble there.
-take a long tramp through some woods near my house. It has literally been 2 years since I did this. Lovely day for it.
-apply for my college transcripts to be sent sealed to me, so I can work with local colleges on a couple of career transition ideas.
-continue working on the hoard of "stuff" I cracked open over the weekend, ferrying all I can to town. I am now up to 6 boxes of perfectly good stuff ready to donate.
-cook just a couple of quick meals that will get me through the rest of the week for lunches
-do my bedtime rituals a little early and go to sleep early...my aim is to shift my "fully awake" time earlier by about a half hour

I am going to do spring cleaning and purge a lot of stuff over spring break, March 6-10. But I do need to straighten up my room today. Of course.

It feels great to have windows open.

I took my herbal thingy this morning and I didn't even need it. I ended up feeling too happy, like 'just took drugs' happy, know what I mean? Don't want that.

So I have six months sober, which is amazing to me, I didn't think I could accomplish this.. and it is just the beginning.

But I did have an urge today, driving home around lunch time, the weather is so beautiful, and I found I had a taste for a cold beer. And watched a couple people walking out of the distributor I used to frequent (with the **** beer I used to drink) and noticed the sign saying they now had six packs and single serve. I went oooh single serve?

So I'm thinking that the nicer weather is going to present new challenges for me, because something about fresh air and outdoor activities just go hand in hand with beer.. Can I go camping this summer without missing the cooler full of beer?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not PINING for it. But I am still adjusting to letting go of something that was a big part of my daily life for a decade.

Congratulations, Brenda!

Definitely get out and enjoy the weather, even if it feels odd at first without the beer. Do it often!

If you make enough new memories, eventually you'll imprint the idea that it's equally good without beer--and probably even better.

Unseasonably warm today - 18C or 65F at lunchtime!

I think you made the right decision BixBees in taking the day off.

BC congratulations on 6months sober, that is great news.

Today I stayed later at work than usual. Some one came in and said "wow you are a very hard worker".
I said "well I don't know about that. I was just told that there will be 50 people at his outpatient clinic on Wednesday so I have to be ready for that". I don’t know if I have space on my shelves for 50 files. So that will be 50 letters to type. Hopefully some of them will be short.

My Lancia is sold, so ends a chapter in my sobriety. I have loans to repay but for a few days at least I'm rich!

I thought about the summer coming and felt my AV creeping up over my shoulder, "Summer is the season for drinking don'cha know". But so was Fall, Winter and Spring, what makes Summer different? The same reasoning why it was acceptable to dink on weekends? Monday thru Thursday were fine times too. So ya. right now, I'm just trying not to think too far ahead of myself.

Congratulations on 6 months Brenda

you've negotiated a lot of hurdles so far - I'm sure you can stay focused and strong and beat Summer too

Thanks Tetra, Gilmer. He was in love at first sight, I drove it to the outskirts of London and he drove it for 20 minutes then I drove it back. We went through all the paperwork and he checked all the engine and chassis numbers.

He is going to take over my space in the vault where I garage it for now.

I have logged on to by bank account twice just to stare at the money, I'll not used to having much in there, its a bit like seeing your football team at the top of the league table

Lots of exercise this long weekend. Went to the gym for almost 90 mins this morning and then did a 6 mile hike this afternoon in one of our nearby mountains. Yesterday was at the gym for almost 2 hours.

You guys are cracking me up with the comments!

Phoenix, sounds like you are onward and upward, good going!

Congrats Brenda on 6 months.

Luna, I seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee you Love that you and Mesa Man have been posting.

Great to see all the new names in here too.

Dee, good going on the sober weekend! I don't care how long anyone has in sobriety, every weekend that goes by without unnecessary old ways deserves a big high five!

It's time for nighty night but I'm a little apprehensive of the Muenster that might be under my bed. Nyuk nyuk

Good night all. Catch you in the morning with coffee.

My plans for the day work out pretty well. Did nothing. Well I did go to the gym for a treadmill run & made a smoothie after but then it was a two hour nap before supper. Found a fun numbers game called 2048 and wasted the rest of the day on that.

Good night!
