Weekender Thread 22-25 September 2016
Night weekenders!
Midnight - happy you got a house, I am sure this time will help you sort it out. Not trying to put him on the hook, but LB being the King of diy can prob give you some great advice.
Sao - glad you liked ikea cafe. That was actually one of my first son's first words and he would also repeat it non stop!
LastDrinks - well done for staying sober!
Everyone else thanks for the company this weekend. Time for meditation, 5 hour sleep and then bring on the week! I feel that my whole life is under control now, happy days!
(ps: 3 months until Christmas!)

Remember if anyone wants to write a theme post for the new thread on Thurs just PM me. First in, best dressed...or suffer more of my ramblings

To all who are early in, way to go for choosing sobriety.
MB, hugs.
Dee, I'd be interested in writing an opener. The next couple weeks will require me to prioritize work (the presentation I'm doing at a conference the week after next isn't started yet ... yikes) but in mid-October, I'd be interested. We have a lot of folks here who can share encouraging welcomes! And yours this week was really nice!
It might be a little tough trying to sleep tonight, and that's due to an epic and delicious nap I had today.
I'll be fine.
So much better than not being able to sleep bc the bed is spinning and I'm already regretting those texts and who knows what ex I told to come over and how will I ever get up for work and be ok tomorrow?
Yeah, I'll take the first kind of sleeplessness ANYTIME!
Night night, guys

Thank you for encouragement, guys!
It has made me feel better to read your comments.
Trach - I would love to get some of your extra sleeping bags, but I think the cost of shipping will be unmerciful)
I did meditation about embracing the change in the morning.
As LBrain suggested I am in the process of switching the mindset - from "victim of the situation" to a warrior.
Have a great week, weekenders!

Evening, everyone.
Monday drawing to a close here and I've been pretty productive for the first day of school holidays - bathroom cleaned; four loads of laundry washed, dried and put away; popped into work for a couple of hours; violin lesson for child 1; I've also taken child 1 to her biannual physio appointment (she's a tiptoe walker, so we just get her checked over twice a year, to make sure she's not losing range of movement because of how she walks. I've given up trying to get her walk on the flats of her feet - any person that can tiptoe with two toe-knee casts on for four weeks aint gonna break that habit any time soon!); oh, and made dinner. Think I've earned me a quiet evening with my book. Still, the holidays are off to a good start. I think I'm going to take the smalls to the movies tomorrow to see either the remake of Pete's Dragon or The Secret Life of Pets.
SW - I'm as smart as a Harvard student. Good to know my very-expensive brain is going to waste. (I have a lot of student debt as I have four degrees. My brain is probably the most expensive thing I own. Perhaps that's why I've spent the past 20 years trying to pickle it in alcohol ...)

Happy Monday morning! I had a great sober weekend. Not really looking forward to work today, but at least I'm not hungover. That just never gets old! Congratulations to any newer folks who made it through the weekend sober - if you didn't, keep at it. You will never regret it choosing sobriety.
