I'll be competing in the US Karate Federation National Championships Tournament in Pittsburg, July 14-17. Very excited!
I couldn't protect myself against a piece of wet toilet paper while I was drinking.
Every bit of meaningful progress I've achieved in my life has taken place outside of my comfort zone.

I do Karate too. nothing worse than when you go there after drinking the day before. I always feel sick when I do and I dehydrate too quick. Also when doing kata I feel clumsy and forget what to do. It also stuffs with my coordination and balance.

Difficult to find anything on the menu without meat or cheese, but I'm sure I'll manage.
If I didn't give myself the occasional "cheat" day, it wouldn't be worth it.

Good luck, EG!
I also want to express this way that I don't want, or intend to, maintain grudges with you. That would not be me I was looking for smilies shaking hands but did not find any... maybe I'm blind or impatient, or perhaps this is something the creators of the board could consider? Or perhaps we could meet f2f in a dojo in the future as I have also started Martial Arts training... as a beginner, from zero experience.
Anyhow, this sounds like a very worthwhile and meaningful challenge and I am rooting for you!

Edit I just watched the Kata EMPI that was insane skill focus & excellent discipline
It's traditional to bow and if I was in front of you I would
