Tetra, maybe my brother should move in with your parents- he likes to be babied.
You and I can take off and get our own place

Melina xoxoxo
I used to hide money and all kinds of important things when drinking too.

One time I ruined everyone's night at a party.
The gave me the drugs to hide and ration out, because I was pretty much the only one who wouldn't secretly take more than others.
So I hid it and couldn't remember where after about an hour.
I really really couldn't remember, I had about 8 people standing around me just willing me to remember- I was trying so hard to remember- nope.
It was found a couple months later in between pages 99-100 in Slash's biography.
Good hiding spot I must say

THANKS, VENECIA!!! Huge hug right back to you! You warmed my heart!

Thanks for passing on the message, Marty!

bigS, you got quite the sober body going on, sir, rawrrrrrr! Awesome photos! I'm so happy for you!

Jen, I had the same thought about your brother and Tetra's family earlier. You and Tetra could borrow Mesa's rv and go rolling around the US looking for delectable man specimens. Pick me up!

I keep looking at the clock like, right now I'd be settling into my room in Mexico, right now I'd be exploring the beach, right now the chef is serving everyone dinner etc etc. Hopefully this passes by tmro and I can move on.

I'm going to finish the house purging tmro. That will certainly help.

Xoxo

Thanks for the laugh! I am cracking up!

If I find this passport I will be physically ill lolol.

Being a bumtron in sobriety feels terrible. I have nothing to blame anything on anymore. I have to admit my decreased mental capacity and poor decisions are ME ALL ME. ugh!

Melina i was actually hoping you weren't doing that!
I had to rebook the deep south USA trip I'm taking in June from sept ( I was short on cash in sept)

In sept as I was supposed to be there, I was sitting at home thinking of all that was supposed to be happening

You'll get there again.
You can always have a free place to stay in Canada too

I had always traveled solo around the world, even during my drinking years. So I was familiar with the area. After I got sober (almost 4 years ago) I knew I needed a major lifestyle change. So I scoured the web for a job that I could work online. I didn't need much - heck, I just wanted to get by. I got the job, ended up being a great fit. Worked my butt off for 8 months from Chicago to secure my role, then sold all my belongings and moved to Antigua Guatemala (similar to San Cristobal de las Casas, I believe Melina mentioned it). Still have the job, have a great house, and a truck and I travel around Central America via my truck or tiny planes to see the region as much as I can. Totally worth it, it was always a goal of mine to live abroad (for real) and I am very happy with it.

Nice work!
I also considered moving abroad but I love Canada too much; I can't stay away long!!!
Will you stay there long term or keep moving?

I have been here 2.5 years and will likely continue living here in Guatemala. Maybe not in this same town - I might move to the Caribbean or the Pacific (both are close down in these parts) or find a more remote spot in the mountains for a while. I have contemplated moving down to my "second home" down in Costa Rica on the Panama border, where I spend 1 month per year (I will be there again in 3 weeks). But, right now this works. I have met a ladyfriend as well, bought a truck, have friends, etc. So I am pretty happy in this country. Plus, my work is based on USA East Coast time, so moving to Thailand or Australia or something would mean crazy work hours. Right now I enjoy being able to keep Antigua as my "home base" and then travel for a few weeks and work from other places. I just worked from Belize for 2 weeks and now am up on a mountain lake this week. I have also worked from Mexico and Costa Rica and USA when I visit family.

Bodhi, I can see why you would miss Canada. Gorgeous. Your family? Hmm. Photocopying your journal and passing it around to your friends? Sheesh.

BigS, nice pics. Looks very relaxing.

Which is pretty much all I've done today. I did a tiny bit of shopping and that was it. I was out of my current favorite ice cream. I feel guilty for not doing anything productive. I'm reading now.

Marty, I hope you're tucked into bed but you're probably getting off just now. It sounds like you're feeling better and that is good.

Hanging in here. Hope everyone has a lovely night. Day. Wherever you are. Which, Mesa, nice spot. Your adventure sounds great.

Spain. Madrid and Barcelona are awesome, fun, and really cosmopolitan. And when you get out into the countryside it's gorgeous. Salamanca way out west, Toledo in the center of the country, the Basque country. I am fluent in Spanish which takes that "vulnerability factor" out of the equation. So yeah, Spain is my favorite. And I have tons yet to see there! But my "bucket list" is a mile long.

Far out, what a relief. I thought I was the only sicko who's tormented myself with this kind of mental caper. I've done it more times than I can remember! FOMO, eh?

As usual, I've missed about the last 5 pages while you guys / gals have been up n at 'em. Coming up to 1 pm Sunday here. Melbourne's done its classic 'sunny one day, grey n miserable the next'. Took Miss Bessie down the beach Sat morning; so far today, still in my jarmies / lurid pink old-lady's style dressing gown, smelly bed socks and ducted heating on low, while it rains outside.

Nowhere like the far-flung adventuring exotica of SOME But, hey, gotta watch that FOMO in myself. 'Gratitude, gratitude, gratitude!!' she muttered grimly.

And the FOOD porn!! I don't really need to cook or eat anything, I've realised, if I read weekenders any time But I need a US / Canadian food dictionary to hand.

Sober n slothful, yay!
x Vic
