I imagine that Mpls/St. Paul stations won't report much else for a while. I've been to First Avenue. But not to see Prince.

Meanwhile, I googled Lipps, Inc and found out that they were a Minneapolis group.

It will be wall to wall Prince. Already have facebook "friends" organizing a trip to Paisley Park for a memorial. Many girls I went to high school with were groupies. Then in college I had a friend who was a huge fan and (20 years ago) we'd go to these damn concerts that started at 1AM and end at 5AM. Crazy. I personally think he was a bit odd, but I can't argue with his creativity and success. I guess it reached the entire world.

It's already pretty nuts here, media and otherwise.

Traffic to Paisley Park is backed up for miles and the crowds are drawing at First Ave. Jeff, cool that you got to those concerts. I never saw him. Loved "Purple Rain," though.

.
One written by Prince is linked below.

Sinead said she nailed this in one Take. No Edits. She couldn't quite remember what caused the unplanned crying. She just went with it.

Years ago, Prince reportedly had many hundreds of unreleased Songs 'in the Can'. That is, in the Canisters that Audio Tape Masters would be stored in. One very hard working, prolific Gent who helped start plenty of Careers.

Within the last Year, he went out on the Road again. He was said to be in top shape while putting on tremendous Shows. Look again at that James Brown Clip I put up a few Hours ago to see one of Prince's Mentors.

A Jehovah's Witness worth an estimated $300 Million.

I think he was a bit odd too. I worked at a suburban Minneapolis law firm at the time he changed his name to the glyph/symbol thingy. One of the attorneys was reviewing contracts that Prince was a party to. The printers had a really hard time with that symbol.

Mec, can you get a new bicycle seat? It's torture if you have the wrong one.

well, I'm outta fuel for the weedwhacker...
It's hot in the sun here. And dry. No rain for a week, ground is dry and hard.

Prince was a unique talent. He was only six months older than I.
And I must add, **** warnerbothers.

And yes, mecanix, this has been quite a year for celebrity deaths.

Well, I just saw the missus off, a meeting from 3 to 4 or thereabouts.
Then it's home and probably bitch at me for something, or else she'll put on her work clothes and join me in the garden.

I saw that Prince was inducted into the rock and roll hall of fame.
I also saw that the beastie boys were too. seriously? They should change the name from rock and roll hall of fame to popular artists hall of fame....
some very questionable 'members' there....

The Beasties were good LB (IMO) - away from "fight for the the right" sh*te and VW badges worn round the neck they were more thoughtful/insightful than most people gave credit for. They deserve their place in the Hall of Fame

I just texted RIP Prince to an old friend. His head is scrambled. He used to spend thousands going to every live gig on his European tours. Playing many tracks now on BBC6 music.

Has anyone heard from SoberP? How is she these days?

Today I received the following e-mail:

Dear Tetra,

Thank you for attending your recent interview in connection with the above campaign. I am pleased to inform that you have reached the qualifying standard at interview.

A candidate’s placement for their chosen location does not alter after interview. We will be in touch with you should your name come in line for a position.

Yours sincerely,
...

Passed the interview and still no guarantee of a job. Sometimes I don't know why I keep plugging away. It's for a temporary position with the public service. Three month contract which I would gladly take for the experience and extra pay. Hopefully I will get called up. I asked where I might be working and they said revenue or social welfare office or the police station.

I would actually like to work at the police station. I have only been in one to get my passport form stamped and such.

Fingers crossed something will go my way!!

Happy birthday to Mrs B

You have to look at the bright side Tetra, you did good on the interview. If you don't keep plugging on you will never get the confidence and job you deserve. Did you send a thank you note, it helps appear professional.
