[not]Surprisingly, that song "Bimini" is full of rum and keg and trouble and jail. LOL. I love Bimini. It used to be the best little funky island ever. Now it's a bit more built up and upscale - at least on the one end - but it's a great little place.

Barbado rum. LOL.

Well, uncanny as this is funk weekend. The Associated Press has just confirmed Prince has died at age 57.

In these parts, it will probably be treated on par with the Kennedy assassination.

Prince had been fighting the Flu. His Plane supposedly made an Emergency Landing in Ilinois over the Weekend.

I had a chance to see him in 1981 - didn't go because I wasn't really into the guy who asked me, and barely knew who Prince was at that time. I have kicked myself ever since. What a sad shock.

Growing up 10 miles from Paisley Park, we had many brushes with fame regarding Roger Nelson. Will be Prince 24/7 here for a few days. Sad day. Great musician.

Hi Weekenders!

I wasn't a big fan of Prince, but remember his music on the jukebox when I worked at an ice cream shop in the 1980's. Another great one has passed!

I'm watching TV - I get Minneapolis/St. Paul stations here. They are showing people gathering outside of First Avenue (nightclub where he sort of got his start) and Paisley Park (his studio and home, where he passed away). There won't be much else on the news here for a few days.
