Morning guys, gonna jump on for the ride. Got all next week off too - first holiday of the year as I always take pretty much the same weeks each year to coincide with school hols and always take one week off at Easter - only 4 days used but 10 days off - been having a bit of a rough time of it the last week or so but feeling much calmer and relaxed today, not going away anywhere but the plan is to relax with my wife and daughter (leave work behind completely as instructed to by colleagues) / carry on with my new found interest in gardening and work I've been doing at the back of the house / countryside walks / bike rides and up my visits to the gym.
from "All in the Family" which I grew up with. . .
Also Liberace's fully sequined grand piano. . .
And Whistler's Peacock Room (truly wonderful--you can sit in it)

Do check this link out--it is a series of images of this room, which they took apart and transported
to Washington and rebuilt--I always go there when I'm in DC
Bless you Smithsonian!
I'm in!
Nice to see some new faces! Welcome!
Easter is not a big deal in my family. We aren't religious, so it's pretty much another day, with the addition of candy. There will be no family get-together of any sort. The family is small, and everyone but me and my son are on some sort of vacation. So I'll get him some candy, stick it in a basket, maybe color some eggs, and call it a day.
I'd better stick my head out the door to see what the final snow tally from yesterday was. And see how many tree branches I lost. Very wet and heavy snow.

DC trip.
Day 1 went to smiths castle and Sackler Gallery – walked Lincoln Mem - smithsonian natural hist museum – awesome imax on dinosaurs
Day 2 my navigator told us to get off at federal triangle station, we started walking – are you sure we are going in the right direction, OF COURSE I AM, it wasn’t until we are in front of white house visitor center she realized we are not, went in there walked to white house, then to Lincoln memorial – there was a rally going on for one of the middle east peoples – > American history museum – this is one you can miss, air n space last 2 hours
Air and space stays open late – spend last two hours there – planetarium show $
Day 3 walked 3+ miles in dark around Arlington cemetery to wait in line a wash monument – got there 0705 – was #22 in line. By the time the booth opened at 0830, there were 200+ people in line. Walked back to hotel had breakfast. Took metro back, 50 mph winds at base of monument waiting to go up – it was cold and nasty… worth it. Walked around to more museums – spent most of time in national art gallery – worth it, spent last two hours at air n space. Not an art aficionado but immediately spotted the well known Renoirs, Cezzanes, Monets, Whistlers, one piccaso and others, could spend a week in the art gallery alone… sculptures were downstairs – did a quick walk through
Day 4 – by now I knew my feet were going to hurt after two minutes of walking… drove to Arlington, watched changing of guard and a couple wreath ceremonies, saw the dead kennedies, drove to tidal basin and found a place to park, walked around tidal pool, cherry blossoms not at peak – hardly at much at all… wife went to art gallery to finish lower level, drove back to hotel, took metro back and walked to air n space – phone rang – wife is done at art, let’s go to American Indian museum - A MUST VISIT!
When closed went to air n space took in another planetarium show, decided to call it early and made it back to hotel before the cookies were gone… got a free meal at the ‘restaurant’ and crashed early – feet and knees are hurting bad…
Day 5 - Free breakfast and drove home…
Didn’t cover everything we saw… we are thinking about day trips to see more

Morning weekenders!
Massive hail storm last night left tons of damage. Luckily my car was garaged. All the cars that were out are ruined. Not sure about roof damage yet...fingers crossed. Lots of cleanup ahead.
So the dreaded man bun has survived all this evolution. Thanks a lot homo neanderthalensis!

Welcome to the new people on the thread and some returning faces
Have a good trip Trach
I have rejoined the 21st Century thankfully
Everyone at work is extremely busy with one exception - me. I am doing my best to avoid getting good any more business until 1st April when I get commission on it.
I am in Dizzee's bad books, after saying she could do with some overtime she now has lots of it thanks to me. Unfortunately she also has a new fella and wants to leave on time lol!
