Easter Weekender March 25
Easter Weekender March 25
Welcome to the Easter weekender. A time of renewal and rebirth.
Many of us have off on Friday, Monday or both. I have neither off!
Easter was always one of my favorite times of the year. Chocolate eggs and all things pastel colored.
Let's take time this weekend to really care for ourselves and those we love. You don't have to drink. You can stay sober.
I personally have had some of the most challenging of sober times over the last two weeks. I need this time to get back to basics and put one sober sneaker in front of the other. Stay my course.
Happy Easter weekenders. To the newcomer and the old faces alike!
Welcome to your sober weekend!

Whelp team.... I deliver my class today. I have been preparing for a month. This will be to two groups of 20 for two hours each. I am well prepared and just simply need to rely on that preparation to enjoy the time with these people.
I will make it interactive and fun!
And as I mentioned I need to hunker down. Stay small. Day by day. Maybe a ham for Easter.
Talk much later today as I will be busy.

weasey, the most important thing about any presentation is to know what you are talking about. As long as you are the subject matter expert, you win.
Keeping the class engaged - it shouldn't be difficult - is numero uno. And unless they are there because they 'have to be' it shouldn't be an issue.
Hopefully everyone is prepared for their Easter Holiday. Unfortunately it has become commercialized and the true meaning of this celebration has been lost. Along with, or independent of that fact, is the stress of spending 'forced time' with family. It is once again a situation that may cause grief to some. Be prepared to excuse yourself to the safety of 'avoidance'. Just like Christmas, Thanksgiving and other family gatherings, this is another weekend to prepare yourselves for situations that trigger your desire to drink, be it memories or traditional practices. Be mindful of the fact that you are in control of yourself. And if you feel the pressure becoming overwhelming, excuse yourself. Find a quiet place to meditate and be alone or just get some air. Always be ready to check in on SR if you need to reset.

Hello to all
Having the possibility of an escape route is so important.
Last weekend some of my friends bought me a ticket for a rugby match. There really nice guys and ex rugby players, class blokes, but Ive never been able to say to them "a coke". Before the match we had our first beer and last night I had my last whiskey. I had been dry for one month before last weekend.
I went out to the shop this morning to buy a chocolate Egg for my daughter.
Not looking forward to the big family meals this weekend.
Thanks to all the members for reading my message.

I will be driving 3 1/2 hours south to spend Easter with my family. My Dad is going to do some work on my car while I am there also. I always prefer it when my brother comes to holiday get togethers also so I am not the only "kid" there and it is more fun for me. But he will be with his wife and her family. So it is just going to be me and my mom, dad, step dad, grandma, and grandpop. I don't get along with my step dad well so we tend to just be polite but don't talk much and keep our distance. I tried to be nice to him last Thanksgiving but as usual, he finds a way to get under my skin! On holidays I always feel like I have to go home because if I don't, I will spend the day alone and that is just depressing. At the same time, I know I am blessed to have a family to be with. But my favorite holiday of them all is New Years because I don't have to go home for it and all the big family holidays are behind us for another year. I will just make the best of it and try to have a nice time. And make the trip as short as possible lol.
