We're all so sentimental tonight! I'm getting a little choked up. It all started when trach started talking about that quilt his grandma made.

Ruby...you're a good mom for not 'rescuing' your son all the time. I see these parents doing their kids assignments and always saving them from natural consequences...those kids will be totally unprepared for adulthood and will never learn to be responsible for themselves. Sad.

I thought I was too full for ice cream. I did an experiment to test my hypothesis that I could probably find room. The experiment was a success.

I usually fail those tests later.

Congratulations on a successful experiment ML. I always like when things turn out good.

btw, do you know how many possible ways there are to fill out the NCAA bracket?
Anyone? Without looking it up?

I do a good job of getting through the days. In the evenings I come on here and am humbled, sometimes to tears, by the strength and resolve of you people,

I said it before, and say it again, Titans walk these halls.

I'm not good at math. But I'd guess it's a very big number. I heard today that the odds of a perfect bracket are 1 in 9.2 quintillion.

that means that every living person on the planet would have to fill out over 12.6 billion brackets EACH, with no duplicates, to guarantee one person would get it right.

I have a better chance of winning the power ball jackpot five weeks in a row than filling out a perfect bracket

actually every week for a year +

Ruby, I was the worst for that.
I actually dropped out in grade 9- 10 ( I had too many parties to attend to worry about school)
My mother was soooo sick of me, she kicked me out.
Anyway, long story short, I got sick of my horrible jobs and wanted to go to university; I had to pay for high school night classes myself and attend class after working all day.
I learned my lesson, should've just done it when I lived at home and had nothing else to do.

Its his own damn fault if he has to work at horrible jobs and go to school at night and pay for it out of his own pocket.
You're a good mom, but there's only so much you can do!

It's better for him to learn the consequences of not doing what he needs to now instead of later ruby

I heard the powerball stat today, too. So I guess I shouldn't feel bad that, with the notable upsets already today, my bracket is not perfect.

Ok, so the 1in 9.2 quintillion thing is based on coin flips at each game. Of course, with some knowledge, your odds are better. Like 1in 128 billion. Much better.

I'm having a little experiment myself tonight. But this one is a slam dunk.
I'm going to see if I can finish this bag of veggie straws that accidentally got in my cart at costco the other day. I was eyeballing the chocolate covered almonds, but I was a good boy.

nope--- still the same odds, the rules of chance/chaos still dictate...

okay, so you flip a coin 9 times and it comes up heads all nine times, what are the odds of the coin coming tails on the 10th
flip?

I have the rosemary and olive oil veggie straws here, have you tried those ones? They're very good!

Happy St. Patrick's Day I'm a little late to the party today. Long hours today. I'm just now having dinner, ice-cream, and relaxing. Another long day tomorrow.

You're very good, Brain.

Jen I've not tried them but they sound really good! I've never snacked so much in my life since joining weekenders! I'm currently hooked on Robin Eggs.....malted milk balls. They only make them at Easter.
