He's here. P is sing me off until he leaves for work. Totally angered me. Saying it's all in my head and controllable. To some degree it's meds caused and cobtrolled. I can't stop this comometely.

It's helping to type on here. Even music on TV isn't helping.

More hugs.

Hey, I posted from my hospital room post surgery as well.
I knew my friends here got it....this can be so weird for us.
We're sober, and it can be disconcerting to have to have meds.

Meds felt ok yesterday. Maybe some different reaction today. I hope it gets better not worse. Can't believe they are letting me go home today. Pretty scary. I will have liquid pain meds prescription.

I think that it's perfectly normal to feel worse the day after surgery.
Your body needs to recover from the anaesthetic.
The panic will dissipate, and you will start to feel better.

And you will have your doctor to call if need be, right?

Yes, thanks so much. Makes sense. I needed a voice of reason. Some of these nurses just aren't the best.

I think Venus is right SB. Give yourself a little time to get acclimatised.

The operation part is done, now it's phase two recuperation

Good morning, pumpkin. Sorry you struggled last night - I'm glad you talked yourself down.

Pain meds are scary and give me weird thoughts. Back to anxiety, like drinking.

You are so healthy that I'll bet after today you start to feel much better. The first 48 are the worst.

You are on my mind. Hugs and prayers.

Good morning Potamus,

The worst is behind you. You will start to heal now. Day two is usually the worse and everyday after will get better. In another week you'll be smiling at a job well done!

I am 4 months out of a total knee replacement and a week makes all the difference. Hang in there. You're going to have a beautiful smile.

Thinking of you. I hope the swelling starts to subside soon and the panic goes away.
I remember getting my impacted wisdom teeth cut out wasn't much fun. And i k ow you are going though so much more. Try and remember this too shall pass.

Hi Sober. I have had a few surgeries, and definitely day 2 and 3 were very hard as far as physical and mental pain. Day 1 is like, hey I feel great, what was the big hoopdydoo? Then next day comes and it's yeah, I feel like crap, I know what the big hoopdydoo is now. I had a huge panic attack in the hospital Day 3 after a major surgery and the nurses told me that's common , I'm in the hospital, nothing's going to happen. I felt better knowing that was a common reaction and not just me having a freak out. You will be feeling better soon! Much love sent your way.

I'm doing great for second day, they're saying.

Panic attack gone.

On liquid meds now. And going home later.

Sorry I missed this earlier SP. I guess it's not surprising that the 2nd day is worse than the first. You probably had some adrenaline kicking in yesterday because the procedure was done and now today it's more about the reality and pain. I'm glad you're feeling a bit better and I'm so glad you're making the nurses listen to you. Not all nurses are tuned in to listening. Good luck going home and getting settled in.

IVs are all out. Ordering broth, coffee with half n half, and oj. Then getting dressed in my going home clothes. Tired of these stupid half gowns that show my butt.
