In. Not too chatty. I have a sober friend who is struggling and I have nothing to say that is helpful, so I'm tempted to just pull back completely. It affects me.

I'm going to the zoo - two days in a row. Just - - uncomfortable - - need to boost my detach skillz. All I'm getting is excuses when I say anything. I'm afraid there is a relapse coming. (not me, her.)
Detach as you see fit to preserve yourself BiM!!! Know we are never far!!!!

I'm in.

A lot of not very good stuff happening around here the past few days. I've been tempted to say screw it all and get wasted because I don't know how much more boyfriend/jail/ aftermath crap I can handle but I don't want to have to come here and confess that I caved.

Thanks for the thread Ken....it's helping me stay sober right now.

Hi Brynn,

I hope you are keeping well. Sorry to hear that you have really difficult stuff going on in your personal life. Drinking just makes all of our problems worse - you know this for sure!! Keep checking in here and holler if ye need anything!

My best wishes,

B

Happy sober weekend, everyone!

Nice to see everyone! Been a while since I've been on the boards but I've been sober since March 1, 2014 so I'm always here in spirit.

Let's see.... I have a sleep study tomorrow and that's kinda the highlight of my weekend. I have such a boring life.

I remember my first weekender thread way back when... honestly, it kept me sober when I was feeling the pull of going to pick up that weekend handle of vodka. I'll take sober life any day over a life full of misery.

Congratulations on nearly 18 months aarryckha.

I have an 8.00am breakfast meeting tomorrow - that would have been problematic when I was drinking, I would have made it but looked like s**t and would have had little to say except "more coffee"

There is some sort of security alert or something - noisy bloody helicopters. I might do a grandpa Simpson and shake my fist at it

There's the culprit! Why so low?
8.25pm and it is getting dark. Ugh!

Super cool pic Sao! I like that.

Brynn, no you don't!! Hang in there. Your drinking and his mess are two separate things. It's not worth sacrificing what you've worked for. It won't make things better.

We're heading home. Smack up through the center of Ohio. We were in the Hocking Hills region which is beautiful. Today we went to The Wilds which is a 10,000 acre sanctuary/breeding facility. Mainly hooved animals from Asia and Africa.

I'll post pics. Sitting in a car rolling along at 70 mph, listening to Duran Duran Hungry Likethe Wolf. Wearing my ten year college reunion t shirt, Class of 1986. Husband was 11 that year.
