Woo hoo!!!!!!!! back at 'ya Weasel - my flat has been a lot easier to clean since I removed the booze paraphernalia/hangover from the situation - no more surprises.

Way to go Angie247 !

Up until about 90 minutes ago I was having a kick about in the courtyard with some others from my block. It brought back some uncomfortable memories from the last time I did it about a year ago. I was drunk and fell into the culvert at the back of the courtyard. Smashed my medial colateral ligament, but being drunk played on making it worse.

All good this time and I notice no one else was remotely drunk - I wonder if that was also true last year and I didn't notice. Hmm

This thread flies.
I went on an impromptu hike this morning. ...nice to be able to do spontaneous things like that, not hungover. It was really nice being in early morning nature.
ruby...have a wonderful vacation. ..wow, do you deserve it.
I've got to have a nap now.
I love weekends.
See you later -

Needed something to cook for dinner. Just started to storm. The fast moving intense downpour. Seems like the best moment to head out the door. I got soaked! Had fun!

Chicken cooking.....

Great job on de-fusing the craving Angie.

Just finished a marathon clean a-thon in my house - I was in the zone, tons of energy and enthusiasm... I so needed that, and it helps when the whole household helps out.

BBQ has been lite and starting to cook a great supper.

Reading and watching a show tonight.

Angie well done to you.

I am nailing Sunday. Whole day is planned out. Not enough hours in the day to get everything done and I'm sure gonna have some huge uplifting fun giving it my best shot.

My goodness the difference between being wretched and alive is amazing.

Don't give in on a Saturday night folks.. Sunday is beautiful, be your sober best.

Went out to hear some music in the park tonight. Three good bands and a Latin ochestra headlined. A lot of people were drinking around me but I didn't touch a drop. Saw a lot of really drunk people on the train on my way home Saturday night and I am glad I've got back home without losing my sobriety.

Online SMART meeting last night was very good! I will definitely do it again. Too bad there are no in person meetings in my state...

The hike was great - we were out from 9 to 1, and, boy, did it get hot! I took a short nap in the afternoon and made a quick dinner for myself and DD. Feeling really tired now. I think I'll go to bed early tonight. Day 6 almost done

I have been thinking about going back to college maybe in the future. I'm not ready yet.
Ironically I am working in a hospital at the moment - in administration. It has really opened my eyes. Not sure if I would go back to nursing. Those nurses work hard!

Hey ho sober crew....

TV time. I went for a drive in town. Wanted to see people. There were lots. I have not resocialized myself. Being around crowds is tough. I lost the drive to be a night person. Hoot and holler my way cross town. Bar to bar. Oh I did my share. But it's foreign. In a very good way.

Plus I don't drive much at night. Felt good to see the sun setting and the windows down and the warm breeze. Ha... Saw the sun rise and sun set today.

Roasted salted peanuts or iceberg lettuce with olive oil and Italian seasonings.... Hmmm snack time. Lettuce wins!

See you in the morning.

Ken

Edit to report my cat chuckie is so awesome. He is an amazing fly catcher!!! And fun to watch.

Went out for frozen yogurt. ..with an old drinking pal. My, how we've changed!
I'm hoping something good is on tv...otherwise I may have to read. What a concept!
Feeling very lazy and a little lonely. Well, it's ok. I wouldn't mind having someone special in my life...who doesn't drink! In the meantime. ..I do enjoy my peace and quiet.

I'm back. The family went to drop the kids at my parents to go to a meeting but we ended up staying and visiting. Mr. Ruby changed my mother's tire to the spare. She picked up a nail and was losing air.

We're now home and I'm taking a quiet time, before wrestling the children into bed. We will leave Monday morning for our trip instead. I felt far less stressed after making that decision.

Angie, good for you not giving in. It does get easier but that occasional twinge is uncomfortable.

Tetra, just reading and watching television is good. Relaxing.

I have to check Weasels thread now.

Well got my hair chopped off and had a mani/ pedi. Couldn't really afford any of it but I needed something to kick start myself. Reading up on how to do a paper bag floor in one of my spare rooms. I think I am starting to come out of this funk.

Della...glad you treated yourself

Just came in from sitting outside and visiting with some neighbors while their kids ran around barefoot. Reminded me of summertime as a kid.....running around past dark while the grown ups talked. Didn't see any fireflies, though.

Another good sober day.

Sweet dreams everyone.
