Hey team... soz I decided to go back on an antidepressant. Not a fan but I think at this juncture that I know myself and should get some extra help. I was on this before and the first few days I feel the side effects. So I was in work and came home to work the rest of the day here.

Will be around! Great to see everyone filing in and taking a seat... or roof!

Have a great day!

HI everyone. Happy Sober Weekend.

Mother's Day is always a mixed bag for me. I love spending time with my daughters but also take time to remember my own mom. She died from cancer 7 years ago.

Also, I strongly suspect that my girls are getting me the original Nintendo and Mario Bros game for Mothers' Day. I cannot even begin to admit how excited I am!

Last year for Mother's Day, I graduated college the day before, so I was quite hungover. BAD! It'll be nice to be alert, sober, and present for the day instead of faking it and praying for the time I can go to bed.

A lot really can change in a year.

Good Morning Sober Enders!!!!!
I am in!
I was looking forward to being not busy this weekend, but the weatherman says summer the next few days, which always seems to drive me out of doors..at least for a little bit.
We shall see.
Indoors or out, I will be sober!!

halluuuuuuuuueeeeee!
Went to hall and oates concert last night. I never owned or listened to them on purpose until last night. Got that over with. Although true fans loved it. Band was solid but poor Daryl. Wife said she felt sorry for him trying to hit some of the high notes. It was sad at times. But, and I say BUT, when they weren't sticking to the scripted pop song formula and jamming, these guys were good. Really good. Kind of a funky disco rock jazz sort of thing. And it just seemed to me hall and oates were not good buddies for some reason. Hall definitely was the show. And he shamelessly plugged Daryl's House, new season starts tonight. Overall they put on a great show. Production was top notch for a small set up, sound could have been better. No visuals except lighting effects. I thought it was done brilliantly. When I saw TPetty here sound was bad too. I picked up front row seats on the side for James Taylor in July. They must have been holding this section out cause the rest of the place was almost sold. 3X the seats as for HNO, full arena set up.
I'm done rambling.
Today is wife's "pinning" ceremony and they say the pledge of allegiance to nursing thing. Having dinner after with sister and hubby.

Good decision Weasel....sometimes we need a little help restoring an imbalance, can be short term. Why suffer when we have options.
Ok everyone. ..let's stay sober and really ENJOY this weekend! !

Wow, the gang's all here bright and early! Weasel, sounds like the sensible move. I myself am on an anti-depressant as well and life right now is better for me, emotionally. Glad you are making some good sober decisions about your health! LB - cool info on the concert. Interesting Hall & Oates tidbits that I never thought I'd learn!

Day 4 up in the Western Highlands of Guatemala. I'm pretty far off the beaten track, but I did take a boat into the major port town of Panajachel yesterday and went to the grocery store. Kind of like camping up here, but with all the good stuff and none of the bad. I've got a 2-story house with a great view, a decent wifi connection to work, and the peace and quiet I've been craving. I've gone swimming a few times off the dock, it's awesome. This huge lake is gorgeous. Here's the view out of my window this morning. Ahhhhh.

I met John Oates. Kinda.

He was in Denver for the Final Four Basketball Playoffs a few Decades ago. I was hangin' at the United Airlines 'Red Carpet Room' whilst 'preparing' for a long Flight to Heathrow. He ducked in and used the Urinal next to me. We didn't shake Hands. Short lil MoFo with a Porn 'Stache back then. But, with his Net Worth listed at ~$30- Mil when I looked it up just now, I guess me being 6'1" doesn't count for much.

Cloudy here. Enjoying this atypical Weather. I've got 'Fluorourcil' slathered on my Face, per Doctor's orders, to slough off all the lil White Guy 'Scalies' caused by ancient times at the SoCal Beaches. I look like a Leper until new Skin forms, and I return to my prior state of Handsomeness. I'm not claiming just where that is on The Bell Curve Of Lookitude. At over $200- for a small Tube of this 'Chemo Cream', I should wind up looking like Sean Connery in his prime years. Doubtful... But, any outcome beats the remote possibility of future Melanoma.

Met, and chatted up, a lovely Couple at the Dog Park who might want to buy this City House. So, that convo will continue when they return from a short Trip. Also slogging through crapola to sell our Mountain House. The original Owner didn't bother to pull a Permit on finishing the Basement, so I now get to clean up his procedural mess. $600- to the County right off the top for a retroactive 'As Built' Permit. Another $400- total to have both Plumbing and Electrical Master Tradesman come through and certify prior Work; clearly done back in '85 on the original Permit. Hopefully, they won't have to tear open Walls. It happens. The original 1985 Permit specifies the 2nd Bathroom in the then-Finished Basement, but one Department of the County ain't buying that this also included full Basement finish. All the Records are on nearly-illegible Microfiche. Whatever. It's like scrapping with the IRS. I got better things to do with my Sober time than fight County Bureaucrats. Button up and sell the Joint.

I expect the current Sale Contract to collapse, since I won't do all this Guano at the discounted Price already negotiated. Fortunately, I'm off the Legal Hook in that regard. The Listing Realtor is the one on the hook, since they listed >2,000 sq. ft. of finished House. The Realty Company Owner knew the original House Owner. The Buyer already paid for a pricey Well Production Test, and for a full House Inspection; all scheduled and done w/o asking me. They're in a rush to Close. I'm not. They either come to the Table at a new and improved Sales price, or lose that Money. All interesting Drama viewed with aloof disdain when you're not Drinking.

This ain't my first Rodeo. Yawn. Nothing to drink over. Life is good. After mucking through excruciating Whiplash Rehab Decades ago, and Home Detoxing to Sober up, I can pretty much catch Bullets in my Teeth. Besides, the Dog wants to go to the Dog Park today. Priorities.

Put the Hammer down on this Bus Accelerator, and let's get a move on!

MM, I was telling the couple sitting next to me last night that Live at Daryl's house is definitely a must see show. Last night he was using the same guitar pictured in that video. Oates just plucked on a the same strat all night - kind of boring, they had a session lead guitarist do a lot of the heavy leads.
I wonder what they boys at the dog park think about those black toe nails. Haven't broken out the sandals yet I assume.

Hey ~

I used to ooze Style and Vodka fumes. I had to cut back on one or the other.

Besides, Nail Polish is cheaper...

Hey, all, I'm on board for the weekend! Happy Mother's Day to all the moms, and for those looking for a gift, still, take your moms out to eat. I'm finding that as time goes on, the best gift that I could give is more time with my mom. She doesn't need anything, and I would rather spend a special evening with her than give her more junk anyway.
