It was a splendid night here. Had a nice relaxing meal. I was gonna get the cheeries jubilee until I found out they dropped a shot of rum into it.
I ordered decaff coffee and tiramisu instead.
Have a great Friday!

I heard some group do a cover of Bob Seeger's "Turn The Page" on the radio yesterday. I was a little pissed off. When the cover is not as good as the original, play the original. Not a lot of covers impress me too much. Although some are better than the original.
First time I heard this one and thought it worth sharing... not better, but not worse either.
A double to start off your Friday.

Welcome newbies!
So many first timers on the weekender. Our sober team is growing!
Amazing pic BigS!
Great point Tetra!
Stunner of a day yesterday! This whole weekend is going to be nice.
Ruby... I told Olive I was going to kick her butt in FitBit steps. We are friends through the SR. Steppers group on fitbit so we enter into challanges on the weekends to see who can get more steps in. In yesterday's step goal she eeked out a few more steps than me. But I will cruch her like the step bug she is on the weekend challange that starts tomorrow.
If anyone wants to join and has a fit bit go to fitbit groups and search for SR. steppers. You can see everyone stats.
No gym this morning. Sore from my session with Stu. Hmmmmm... That didn't sound right but you get it.
Happy sober Friday!

Happy Friday everyone! I'm in. One last work day. I'm ready for more rest.
Saoutchik, peaceful pic. I like it. Bet it's nice to jog with no one around.
Weasel, I'm glad you weren't planning on beating up Olive
. Fitbit, though, whole other matter!
Time to get children roused and ready. Talk to you all later.

I don't want to detract anyone from going on meds. They are very very helpful and needed at times. But I stopped mine already. I have experience with this particular med and it has a ramp up time that produces numerous side effects. One of those is a muddled mind. Granted it would probably last only a few weeks but....
I worked damn hard to get this far and the biggest gift I have daily is to wake with clear and passionate thoughts. Yes I get low at times. I had never taken this pill when I was not drinking. And I decided that clarity and my love for my sobriety will not be dampened by taking this pill. I would rather find better natural ways to solve my low points.
If things get bad... Which my worst sober day has never come close to a good drunk day... Then I will use every tool I have including this pill. Until then?
A clear mind is the most valuable tool I have to staying sober and enjoying living sober.

Thanks for that Ken. I teeter back and forth on meds. I know I get down. Always have. But I do snap out of it easier now. Plus some of the meds I have tried seemed to make me drink more. I am planning to wait a year and see where I am emotionally before I decide.
Day 1 of eating better. I was horrible yesterday had a sub and a chili cheese dog during the course of the day and I definitely felt like poop last night!

Della, the mention of chili cheese dog is making me hungry.
Dropped children at school and now have a few minutes to play with before getting myself ready. Nice to relax for a bit in the morning. I'm going to savor that luxury.

Hey all!!!!
So many new names - welcome to the best sober bus in town, spanning the globe as we unite in universal sobriety and wacky-high-jinks!!!!!
Well, I'm in a good mood. I just a hoi-sin duck wrap for lunch, washed down with a fruit smothie. I also picked up some nice sea breem for dinner later.
Mrs B is in work tonight. Then we have the weekend off - we are going to take a trip to my home town to catch up with family and friends.
K: I have been reading a lot about Mindfulness lately. I know it's becoming the latest fad, but a lot of people find it very helpful. You can get CD's to help you practice.
Welcome back Mr Cameron? Is he on the bus? Hi David!!!!!
Big S, I want your life - your descriptions and pictures are inspiring!!
Sao - I'd love to take up early morning jogging.
Happy Friday everyone else!!!! I'l be checking in as I plan to "doss" in work!!!

P.s.....weasel, you know yourself better than anyone else. You always sound smart and self aware...I support your decision. I also cherish being clear headed these days. Keep the aerobic exercise amped and to the max.

Boy Howdy ~
Fantabulous Friday to all!
What, with Della contemplating Vacay spots, this Pic of me and Da Pooch in Utah on the inaugural Trip with my lil used Trailer came to mind. Fabulous Geology around my Trailer 'down by the River' there in Sheep Creek. Had the entire Campground pretty much to ourselves. The prior Camper even left us more Firewood than I could use.
I took a quick drive through lovely Manila Utah nearby. Not far up the Road, the kinda-funky Asphalt widened, and was new and smooth. There was a sizable Saloon right after this Asphalt transition. Why? I had just crossed over the State Line from Utah into Wyoming. Polar Opposites, in terms of Liquor Laws and attitudes on Temperance. Plus, with the huge 'Flaming Gorge' Rez nearby, there were Drunk Fishermen to accommodate.
Odds are you heard Metallica covering 'Turn The Page', Brain. A decent Cover, but I declined to post that Vid Link here. A bummer of a Vid Story Line about a Pole Dancer dragging her lil Girl around to Dive Bars. Having been a Long Hair playing Kaboy Bars sometimes up in Cheyenne Wyoming Decades ago, I can relate better to Bob Seger's Version. Eons ago, Da Wife and Gal Pal got similar treatment in W. Colorado. They were told to leave the Bar to put on Bras, or don't bother to re-enter. Who the eff in their right Mind kicks Braless 20-something Babes out of a Bar?
I think Cheap Trick did Fats Domino proud on this Cover... I've seen them multiple times. Good fun. If I ever plugged in my Bass again to my Kilowatt Rig to rock Rural Colorado, I think a good Band name for Geezers covering Oldies would be 'Power Pops'. Sez me.
