Apparently I have no compassion, don't appear to have been much of a heavy drinker and I am finding this easy, how rude!

Read into my post what you will, but I know that it was meant to share as a motivator!

And many of us fall of the wagon again and again and learn in the hard way!
We are all in different situations and stages...

Maybe I am being too sensitive, but just to put the record straight, I have not found this easy, I have had my own mental issues and I have fell off the wagon lots of times, so please don't dumb down my achievement. I have worked hard!

The internet is difficult as words without vocal tones/facial expressions can be misinterpreted. I read the original post as a message to encourage others and feeling sad for all struggling. Likewise I read Aiko's message as backing up the original post, not criticising it. I've upset people in the past on forums and on reading their comments gone back and re-read what I've written have seen how it can be taken to in fact say the opposite of what I've meant. I really think that's what's happened here. Please let's not fall out of interpretation issues. We all need each other xx

Buggirl yes you are oversensitive!

Have u actualy read what I wrote correctly???
The problem is by writing people can miss interpret the meaning of the posts!
If the person u mentioned that fell of the wagon read your post after; how do you think him/her felt??? think about it!

And I totaly agree with Virginia!
Sometimes the tone when you read it is not the tone another wrote it.

Have a great day

The wonders of the internet are that we're not communicating face to face so tone is sometimes entirely lost!

We are all here for the same reason and we need to support each other :-)

Nice post by the way buggirl....I remember how hard you struggled at the start, I was spending a lot of time on here last August/September/October.

You should be really proud of everything you've acheived

Thanks for the uplifting posts, BG. I for one love reading the success stories on SR. Yes, I know the people that are struggling need support, but if only the people who are struggling post then the visitor to this forum will get the impression that everyone is doomed to failure.

I agree with Fluffer in that I like uplifting post and this was a good one. I also remember when Bug got here and I am similar to her in that I am elated in recovery. We don't mean we are "off the hook" or that it is easy, but that we are content with our decision. It IS what we want.

Sometimes we can give all the attention to people struggling and forget to acknowledge the ones that are making it. It's a fine line.

Keep going BG! You rock!

Absolutely not. That was my interpretation of the OP...especially on a sober recovery forum where a lot of people are struggling to stay sober AND I read...

To me, that is not a motivating statement but we're all different and have different interpretations of things we read. That being said, Buggirl said she didn't mean it that way so no worries!

Guys, I don't want to fall out over something that was meant to be positive! I am sorry if I misinterpreted anyone's post, it's difficult to judge sometimes what is meant. I think this thread has done me the world of good as I have realised that if I think someone is dumbing down what I or anyone else has achieved, then I get very protective. It was a piece of advice I received on here......"always protect your sobriety, it is the most important thing". So when I feel that someone is questioning it, I bite back. Sorry friends!
