NA beer
I drank some non-alcoholic beer and ended up craving and obsessing about alcohol again.
My sponsor says non-alcoholic beer is for non-alcoholics
Just set myself up to be all squirrelly

This is one of those topics that pops up quite frequently. My feeling, and one that is shared by quite a few SR members is to move on, forget about anything close or related to the past and that includes na beer. There are plenty of beverages available that are less relatable to our drinking days, and making that choice lends to our recovery process/plan.
depends, really
how much sober time do you have?
is this the first time you are trying them?
What are you going to do when you discover they don't taste like 'real' beer?
What are you going to do when you discover that you ran out in the first half?
What are you going to do when your party friends start doing jello shots and things like it and try to get you to join in?
It's a tough call. Maybe consider watching at home?

Yes
probably switch to either cran/soda or water(my new addiction)
switch to water
Not have any and they know what i'm doing and respect it. These are friends that had to pull me off a guy on NYE, so they understand what i'm doing.

After looking through the older threads, I think i'll stick to cran/soda(i still want to type vodka habit) and water.. I never drank vodka/cran so it doesn't bother me. I can honestly say that I am happier not being drunk. Even before my last triggered relapse on NYE, I was not 100% content. Now I can freely drive whenever/wherever I want, make better financial decisions, just all around more calculating in all aspects of my life, when I have a clear mind. I love this feeling! It's been a while!

It is a hot topic around here and it does come up a lot, but there's no shame in asking the question if you truly want to know.
I personally had similar experiences to some of the others. I tried it at first but started drinking it like it was real beer - drinking fast, drinking a lot, hiding it from others, obsessing about it. Eventually it led back to real beer too more than once.

As I've said before.... If it looks like a beer, tastes like a beer, smells like a beer, feels like a beer or reminds you of beer, It's a beer!
Stick with water and have a great time!
