Reception is spotty at best... I understand the co workers same at my place actually my counselor said so many of us take to alcohol who work here for one reason or another... It's in the culture of the area for sure. I luck out though because I work alone from a pickup truck on a pipeline I only start and end my shift in the plant for the daily pre shift meeting.
Not bad trachemys, and definitely country! Good crescendo toward the end, and a nice selection of bluegrass instruments in the mix.
Keep up the good fight upminer. If thats how you feel, maybe get some new cds in your truck? If you don't have a cd burner all that, maybe ask someone into computers to burn some off for you. Anyone who is into music loves to share it. All the best

I find the same frustration sometimes while reading a good book. There's the alcohol, and there's the angst.
It's odd... revisiting the writing I used to read while drinking. I'm processing it differently now.

Yeah, I love country music, and it seems a lot of it lately is all about alcohol, but so is TV, books, billboards, coworkers, etc, etc...
Here's one of my favorite country songs of all time, and is where I stole my signature line. I'm sure a lot of us here can relate (I know I can)...

That's a good one.... Still remember the first time I saw this sitting at the kitchen table with a hangover.... Bought the cd that day. It took me awhile to grasp it all but this was the interview that related to me "training yourself" to drink and still fulfill your duties.... http://www.npr.org/2013/06/10/190372...th-to-sobriety
I've been listening to country music for a long time( and might seem strange I can jump from it to heavy metal to classical) but I must be missing something. I don't notice every song having alcohol in it. Yeah, there's songs that talk about alcohol but not all of em.
And it's in every genre of music.

I like both kinds of music: Country AND Western...
But seriously, commerical radio in any genre is mostly painful.
Here's a good country tune (different country maybe), but I can't figure out how to link from the youtube app on my ipad. So, go to youtube and search "Richard Thompson - God Loves a Drunk - Seattle 1990." I was at that show and must have been standing almost right next to whoever filmed it. There were a bunch of loud, obnoxious drunks in the audience and then he busted it out. I remember sobbing through it, thinking about my mom. It's a beautiful, sad, angry, mournful piece. Check it out.
