In this thread, I've come across many good reasons not to reconnect. (Reread Scott's feedback. A lot.) Still haven't seen a good one.

FWIW, I was in your boat once. Against my better judgement, I reconnected. It ended up predictably. Me, sad. (And me sweating out a pregnancy test.)

Put your sobriety first. The rest will become crystal-clear.

I say definitely let him know about your situation, and if he is a jerk about it or refuses to exclude alcohol from the visit then you have your answer.
