Loving seeing all the pet pics!

Just heading to bed here shortly (keep saying I'll turn this iPad off and go to sleep, but keep finding something else to read, lol) as it's almost midnight here in the UK.

As Purpleknight said, the Commonwealth Games are on in Glasgow, so I'll definitely be watching some of the TV coverage of that, too. I'm hoping to get out running myself, get back into exercise now that I'm beginning to feel better.

Night, everyone.

Do love a good dog picture and they all seem so cool! Its a shame my dog Bonnie couldn't witness my sober journey, she was a very clever dog and new straight away when I had been drinking. And when I sat down with her she would move away because she didn't like it.....even my dog hated when I was drinking!

Good to see there's many here planning a sober weekend. It will be my 5th in a row which consists of working Friday and Saturday night, Sunday resting and Monday viewing a flat and hopefully moving out. I have been scared of moving out on my own but that is no way to live life.

Hello Weekenders!
When I first got sober I was getting a divorce, had just moved to another state, bought a house and quit a very horrid job. The only constant in my life was Frank. He helped me so very much in the first few years. He was wicked and loud and loved me as much as I loved him.
He got very sick a few years ago and I tried to return the favor and help him. We had a few more good months together, but he eventually passed.
While looking for good pictures of my cats and dog, I found this picture of him.
I give him a lot of credit for saving my life.
Hope everyone is well!

My daughter just told me she wants to be a rock star for Halloween. She wants to design a rock star tee shirt with "stars, hearts and kittens, mom."

Hey Snowdog glad you've come back

Hey everyone ,
Friday morning in the UK .. Think i'm being looked into by a contractor firm as a prospect for a job …
I'll give my current bosses the chance to match any offers pay wise as they have been quite decent . With maybe 20 years of career ahead , maybe less , i need to make every day count .

Living a sober life , you never know where the flow of life will take you. I never thought i'd be in this position and it has only been a couple of short years .
I guess i was way overdue a lot of changes in life but drinking kept me stuck and scarred .

So come on , glorious sober life is there to made as best it can , it is passing fast enjoy the time of your life .. You are free, break the bondage of addiction .

*ring-ring* i call to you ..

Mairie... Welcome and check in when you can.

oldself.... Always good to see you. A classic oldself entrance. Love it.

So many adorable pets. A smile before work never hurts. Thanks!

All the new folks hope you are having fun with the thread. But Ring Ring on the freedom bells as my buddy Mecanix says. We are getting into the thick of when the heart starts beating faster as end of day Friday approaches. Stay strong! Post as much as you need to for help.

I am off to work.

Seeing all these pets makes me long for one of my own. But it's just not the right time in my life to make a commitment to an animal.

I will be working this weekend, visiting with my grandma, having a bbq and movie night with the bf, going to a farmers market and adding to my cactus collection, and picking up a couple of books from the library to indulge my reading habit. I love sober weekends and the freedom that they bring!

Hey everyone,

Friday morning in the UK, as mecanix says. And a beautiful day it is, we have been having an amazing spell of weather here.

I made it out for a run, but didn't feel too great as I've lost a bit of fitness after my last binge (still, I can build it up again), combined I think with the unusual heat here. It's a start, though.

Hope everyone is doing fine!

Here's a real piece of encouragement: I had a very stressful and grouchy day yesterday. I complained loud and clear on the Undies thread, then apologized for dumping.

Somebody said, "Better dump than drink," and it hit me--

It had not even occurred to me to drink that whole day!

I have been sober for 8 months. I used to think about drinking all the time.

Keep on keeping on with your program, and progress happens!

A tribute to Jessie, the girl I lost to cancer in May 2013. She thought I was Elvis. Absolute, unconditional love. Her ashes are on a shelf next to me. We will be scattered together one day.
