I love this post. One, seeing adorable pictures of animals is a sure fire way to put me in a good mood. Two, I know that I really failed to be the best pet mama that I can be when I was drinking. This reminds me that as a sober person, I am able to give my fur babies the love and attention that they deserve. And that only strengthens my resolve to stay sober.

Really good point Giochick! I feel the same way. Henry and Chuckie used to cower and hide when I was using. They don't ever now!

I'm at a meeting for work so I won't be around until tomorrow, but here is a picture of my boys, Charlee and Zeus. Right now I miss them terribly!

I am at our home away from home this weekend, so I will be unable to take and post pictures of our dog, Abbie, our cats, Mayfield, Sammie and Smokey, and our donkeys, Jack, Jill and Oliver, but I will try to get my wife to help me do that soon.
In any event, July 25 - 27 promises to be a very fun, sober weekend with plenty of baseball, boxing, car racing, AA and church.
It sure beats the old days the OP described in the first post.

I'm in. I'm feeling lost even though I have five days off. Didn't plan well enough. Went to meetings yesterday and today. Husband turned the water off to work on some plumbing. So...now every project I have in mind suddenly requires water. We always want what we haven't got.
Here is Marget aka "killer" who has a penchant for bird catching. Just relaxing on the porch with me before picking up the kids from camp. Glad to see everyone on here already!

Hey Weekenders, I'm in!! 
Unfortunately I don't have any pets to share, we used to have a few cats when I was growing up, so I always have a soft spot for them, our longest living cat lived for 14yrs, from when I was 4yrs old until I was 18yrs old, it was a very sad day when she passed away, it was like loosing one of the family!! . . . all the pics so far have been amazing!!
Anyways, I'm working Saturday with a day off on Sunday this weekend, The Commonwealth Games started this week in Scotland, so might catch some of that on TV, apart from that with all this nice sunny weather here in Ireland it'll be time for some relaxation!!

I think turtles are cute. They were the unofficial mascot of my college.
Old cat just sauntered outside. Avatar cat. I think I will adopt all the flies that enter my house as pets this weekend. No one seems interested in closing the door behind them today so everyone is passing in and out of the house without bothering.
Looking at kitchens online. I keep getting paralyzed at the choices. And the thought of ripping up the current kitchen and the mess overflowing into the already messy rest of the house. Time to just pick and run with it. I have pretty strong opinions on design and color so that has been an issue too. Nothing too glitzy or showy. Not me and doesn't suit the character of the house. Nothing too ornate either. I saw rhinestone set drawer pulls at one kitchen showroom I browsed when my husband bought wood for the porch. Rhinestones? I'd be scrubbing food glop out of the settings with a toothbrush every day.
Time to go check some more kitchens. Pizza tonight. With paper plates.
