nicki, I don't think people were ignoring you, but maybe they didn't realize how badly you were hurting and yelling out? Sometimes I have to do my work, get to an AA meeting, or go home for the day and be with my kids and fiance. We can't always be on SR!
I've always tried to remember that I'm the only one responsible for my sobriety. If I drink it ain't because someone else poured a drink in my mouth!
So how about starting over again? Day 1. You can do this, and there's lots of people here to walk the path of recovery with you.

Nicki, if this is the thread you mean, you got several replies.
We are all here to support each other. I'm sorry you're hurting.

I want to say typical thing to do..Blame others.
It isnt up to anyone but you to stay clean.
Noone here or anywhere can make you do or not do anything.
I am sorry you felt neglected.
But I dont see it.

You don't have to apologize nicki, I didn't think you were singling me out and blaming me.
When I'm dying inside and needing to reach out (and even when I'm feeling great) I come here, I go to AA meetings, I attend church, I sit outside and watch the world go by, etc. I do anything to take my mind off my disease.
But I don't drink, and I don't blame others. Like chiy said, nobody can force you to do the things you're doing.
So how about that whole starting over thing? Are you ready to do this deal?

Nicki,
Hi there! I know we have never talked but I want to apologize to you. I did read your post, and I didn't reply. I am struggling very badly myself and felt like I would not be a good person to help you. But even though I know no one can make you drink, I am sorry I didn't write you some words of encouragement. I will pray for you hun!!! I hope you are doing better, just remember how awful a hangover or detoxing feels. Keep smiling

Nicki- I was on the boards quite a bit yesterday and didn't even see your post. I believe you are talking about your Wanted to Die post. I reviewed the thread, it looks like the last response was a little before noon. I wonder if the thread didn't get buried on page 2. Maybe next time you could bump your message so it doesn't get lost.
So sorry you are hurting.

Pick yourself up, dust your self off and remember not to be to hard on yourself. It's when we dwell on our mistakes rather than moving forward and learning from them, that we become weak. Trust me, sometimes I'm my own worst enemy where that's concerned. But I am starting to shed that way of thinking, little by little.

Hey,
I'm with Chiy on this but just wanted to add.I understand wanting to blame everyone else.I sure did recently when something happened that pretty much blew me out of the water.
But the fact remains-it was my choice to drink over it.And I regret it.No matter how much pain I was in-it was the wrong decision.
I found a ton of love here from people-but keep in mind-we're all in different timezones and sometimes when we want people to be here they're just not.We all have lives and kids and jobs....doesn't mean we dont care.
I've never found a more caring bunch.
I hope you put the bottle down and join us.It's not an easy road-but you can do it.
Love,
Julesxox

Ditto that on the timezones! We are here from all over the world and when I post most people in North America are sleeping. It's also important to keep in mind this is not a small community: hundreds of people are reading here and posts pile up quickly.
Sorry you relapsed, I hope you cut it short and get back into sobriety as quickly as possible. As awful as they are, though, a relapse is an opportunity for us to learn something about ourselves and why we drink. Why did we drink again? What was our trigger? I'm going to echo others here and say that blaming others for our drinking is an easy way to not learn anything from our relapses. Try to search you mind for the real reason you picked up again: stress, fear, no program in place, a bad experience, etc?
