That was lovely Fizzy. This is the longest my five year old has had me sober, 3 months bar my little one night slip! It's nice to be a proper parent, isn't it?

Not just taking the responsibilities, but having real laughs, real memories, real moments with our kids.

That is so wonderful that you were able to take command of your life again. Often times our addictions will lead us to believe that we cannot function without them and we feel powerless over them. You made the right choices and now you can reap the fruits of those choices. Spending each day "IN THE MOMENT" with your family. No sense of glazed hazy. Congrats and keep up the good work

Another year has passed since I posted this and I'm still sober, its hard to believe but this sober living really is possible and great fun too.

My wee girls now 3 and doing great.

OMG Fizzy! You got me. I'm reading it and am trying to hit the thank you button and it won't take. I thanked you already. I read down further and I responded and now I'm really freaked out. How could I have responded and not remembered? Had I started drinking again?? Then I looked at the year and then . . . I got to the last post.

Wow! I read through most of the thread before I saw it was an update... so cool you are still sober a year later! That is the best. I hope when my child is grown and thinks about me drinking she will think it is an absurd thought... she won't even be able to imagine it.

Coincidentally, when I quit drinking beer, I starter drinking a LOT of fizzy water. Is that where your name comes from?
