Hello all,
Starting day 19. My skating lesson may be cancelled because of rain. It's an outdoor rink.
Jo, I love birds. How old is Zeke? My late cockatiel and i used to sing and whistle back and forth in the morning. I'd be in bed and I'd call out to him in the living room and he'd start singing. I do miss him, he's gone over 2 years. Yesterday I dug out touch up paint I had mixed a year ago, to fix all the chewed paint in the kitchen. So many chewed things in the kitchen, but it was his happy playground! I just can't get things done properly when drinking or I procrastinate terribly. I'll get this task done!
BTG, I'm sorry about your husband. Your attitude about looking to the future is a good one.

BTG - I’m sorry you have to deal with his drinking while you’re working on your sobriety. I can see the irrationality alcohol brings on. He sounds like me a few years ago.

BTG I’m so sorry your having to deal with this from hubby but keep going your doing fab!!

Zeke is 6 months old and is an AfricanGrey. He whistles back and dings back now when you call him and says hi to my son all the time! I just hope he’s not taught swear words haha

Hi again-
I just posted this on a different thread and thought I'd throw it our here as well.

Part of me is considering a job change as I work in a very high stress(but high reward) industry where drinking is part of the culture, but I think my plan is now to shelve that decision until I have at least 6 months of sobriety under my belt and then decide. That will give me a better picture of the situation. I'm confident that I can handle the drinking culture of the industry as I've managed that for years now but it's the pressure part that gets me.

Thoughts? Yes my job adds lots of stress, but I'm beginning to think the alcohol makes the stress worse and if I remove the alcohol then the stress will be more manageable(and I do know I need to find other tools to deal with stress in general, I have a therapist I work with for that part which will help as well.)

Sam- I think the idea of waiting 6 months before making any major changes is very reasonable.

And I think that as you continue on your sober journey Sam, the stress will be way less with regards to the drinking culture at work. s

Hi Red! This is literally the 6th or 7th monthly class we have shared haha. I only laugh because it means we aren't drinking if we are on here. I was a friend of Nicole's too so that's why I always remember you. I ordered Chinese cuisine yesterday and watched great stuff on Netflix.

Good morning! I have to admit I did not feel sorry for my hubby this morning when he was hungover. I went and got my labs done this morning, I was only 7 months late, but at least they are done now. I'm sure there will be work to be done, but I'll know where I stand. Other then that, today is my Friday, one quick shift left and then a few days off. I need to make a list of things to get done the next few days. Happy Tuesday, keep up the sober days.

Im just about to start making Ramen bowls for tea nice and healthy but I have eaten crisps and choc today!! I really need to stop!!

We always eat the terrys! It was my grandads favourite so we always have one in his honour it never lasts it’s sooooo good!!!
