Class Of February 2022 Part Two
I was just looking it up Leshar....as my understanding as to why milk helps is peripheral.
It seems there are a good number of foods that can really help to reduce cravings in recovery.
Interestingly, they are all foods I eat regularly.

Been sober most, but not all of Feb. At day 13. A couple days until my dad turns 64. May enter rehab for a short time next month, we'll see.
It's snowing here - I'm not really a fan of snow - downhill skiing is fun, sure.... But one thing comes to mind, back when I was about 12 or something - I didn't have any money or any tickets for the ski lift, yet I said eff it and continued down the hill. Had to walk back up until a scooter came along and picked me up as my parents were concerned....

Hey all-
Just checking in-made it through today with minimal cravings.
Calm-I'm glad you fought off the AV as well, and I will keep the milk/ice cream/sugar ideas in mind for future cravings of my own.
Still early days, but I have been sober for the great majority of 2022 so I do have that to lean on.

Sudden cravings tonight as I sat down to dinner. Good enough day. Don't know why now, although the evening was always my wine time.
guess I got a bit panicky, like I have to do this forever? Going to have a tea and some cookies, watch Netflix. feel really sad tonight, again, don't really know why. Seeing a friend tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing her. I just thought, maybe it's because a man in my hiking group who didn't respect my boundaries emailed today to ask me to a dance performance. I realize I'm mad as hell. Why doesn't he get the message and leave me alone? So mad, maybe that's what's fueling the cravings. I'm ok, tucked in at home and an early night

Just checking in, finishing up day two, felt nice to wake up without a hangover. Last night I wrote for 10 minutes before bed which I plan to do daily and also started a daily meditation practice. I did have cravings for beer on my way home from the dentist today, I used to always celebrate a clean mouth by coating it with beers, dumb routines. At home I worked out and ate a healthy dinner with the family. I never have cravings for alcohol after I eat because food would always kill my buzz. Looking forward to another good night sleep. Wishing all of you well in your sobriety, keep up the good work!
To clarify, I've told this man in no uncertain terms 3 months ago that I do not want to date him and that if I saw him, it would only be on a hike. (Even if so, I'd keep my distance) just feel lonely angry.

It's 430pm and I've been feeling the pull, not big but it's there. I've put off 3 things tonight that would've or could've included drinking just to be sure I'm safe from it as I'm feeling much better today and that means to my AV that it's OK to drink.
I've also been doing domestic admin all arvo due to not feeling good for days and this is really terrible but I will admit it, I finally brushed and washed my hair after 10days, it took 30mins to brush!! It was like a birds nest, I definitely know I'm not my normal self when this happens..
