Holy Moly!
It is almost August……Edging toward that um., you know, once formidable, unfathomable,…….thought, wish, dream…….that one year mark.
How’d it happen?
Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day, and week by week. By not drinking, no matter what.
By facing the hell, and walking through it to get past it. By service to others, by showing loving compassion to myself. Posting, reading here. Reading and listening to the written word about the brain, addiction, drinking culture, etc. Taking notes. Observing drunk people. Observing happy sober people.
I AM free, but not home free. I never will be, and that’s ok, it’s the bed I have to lay on, so that’s what I accept.
Love and wishes of success to everyone.

Entering week 51
Inspired….by my classmates and so many souls here on SR
Grateful…..for my choice to be alcohol free, every day
Determined…..to keep going on the path of self love and care
Mindful…..of my toxic relationship with alcohol, to watch my thoughts and control my actions
Curious…..about the sober life I am choosing to lead
Excited……about life ahead of me
Peaceful…..about my mistakes related to addiction and trauma reaction in the past
Content….with the simple pleasures of life experienced through my senses
Hopeful….that my threads and posts somehow bring healing to others
Rested…with the best sleep ever
Loved…..providing myself the love and care I’ve longed for all my life
Caring….of others here and in the world struggling with addiction issues
Proud….of where I am today
Grateful…..for my choice to be alcohol free, every day
Determined…..to keep going on the path of self love and care

Will be closing this out soon, my last first year sober……you, Alpine, my classmates, Hawkeye, Bim, so many helpful encouraging responses.

And like that, the mountain has been climbed. 🏔🧗🏼♀️
Oh, but I’m not done climbing. And I have to watch where I step. I am taking precautions not to fall.🥾🥾
It gets easier after the first false summit.🗻
Will post “my story” when I am ready.⌨️🖥🪄
