One Year And Under Part 70
Cool Thread...Hi Everybody.....Just trying to post in more places and stay active here. I was just talking about gratitude in another post, Plenny. It's so important for our mental health and overall well being. Good thing that's an ex-employer... sucks having to work with or for people that bring you down. Good for you for standing your ground. I'm at about 6 weeks now without drinking...I'll be back to read up and post here!
Hi Everyone-
Toxic people should be avoided at all costs-although I know it's hard to do so sometimes depending on the situation.
And I also think toxic people are sometimes cloaked in disguises--I've certainly been exposed to people who claim to be friends or whatever until I say something they don't agree with, etc.
I am working on disengaging with grace and hope for them.
Because if I don't, I end up hating myself which leads to destructive behavior.
Okay, that's probably waay to serious for a nice Tuesday morning-at least in my part of the world!

You are so right, Wildchild.
it’s great to see you Willow!
Samwich, what you described seems like a never ending battle in my life. I certainly do have good real friends, but there seems to be a never ending rotating cast of people who show up to be fake and manipulative and hurtful and I cast them off. I don’t understand it at all. If you have any insight I’d love to know!

Narcissistic, manipulative people are very good at hiding their nature until you cross them, I've been pretty lucky being able to block most from my life over time. I do have one close relative that I have a strained relationship with which can get me down sometimes. Back in the early days their behaviour would be excuse enough to get drunk, now I've learned to 'adult' and find other, better ways of coping.
Have a Happy hump day, those in my hemisphere, happy Thursday those time travellers ahead!

Good Luck with the review Plenny.
All we need to remember is that a persons words and actions say more about them than it does about us. Everyone carries baggage, it's how we deal with it that counts. There is an old book called 'the games people play by Eric Berne which is quite insightful. Also maybe look up the drama triangle, there are a lot of 'victims' around looking for you to be 'rescuer' and the minute you stop you become 'persecutor' in their eyes. Sometimes just recognising this behaviour in someone can give you the resilience to cope.

30 day review went well! I got what I consider to be a fair starting salary and I am just happy to be in a regular, steady job where I can count on a predictable income. It’s so strange suddenly being an office lady but I think I like it. My life up to now has been exciting enough honestly. Thanks for your support everyone
