Welcome to my time of the morning Courage.

I don't think any of us will ever be considered "normal" people, lol!

Have a good day all!

SG, sorry to hear about the septic system. We have one here at work, but that's the landlord's problem! I've never aspired to own my own house. Way too many headaches. Apartment living suits me perfectly.

The new book project is humming along nicely. Could be my favorite one so far!

Hummmmm -- glad to hear it, FBL.

I guess it's time to get rid of the seasonal avatar.... but no.

On my end, hardly working at all anymore. Just the minimum. I'm not even showing up to meetings, which I always did before, even drunk I wrote a chairman today and said, please send me the minutes -- which is a bit snarky, because they don't bother to take minutes, because no one ever accomplishes anything. And when they try to do something, someone changes the minutes before distribution.

In my field, there's something called the "John Henry effect." No need to go into what it means, but I was teaching it to my students, and none of them knew who John Henry was. So I played them the song, sung by Johnny Cash, with an (unexpected to me) video of a black railroad man from the 1850s. Now I have to worry that someone will make a complaint against me or cancel me or something, either for the video, or for Johnny Cash, or what. Who knew college life could be so dangerous?

I had to look up the John Henry effect. Very interesting and potentially self sabotaging to a study. I always enjoyed the Johnny Cash version.

There is nothing wrong about setting boundaries Courage. We too freely give away our power to others needlessly. You will be happier in the long run.

Have a good day all!

Courage, I also had to look up the "John Henry effect." I read about it and I'm still not 100% sure what it means, LOL! Guess I need you to explain it to me.

Our finished books came from the printer on Monday. They look fantastic! We already got some feedback from a customer who called it our greatest book ever!

Congratulations, FBL! That's great feedback!

I was telling another one of my classes tonight about the Spearman-Brown Prophecy Formula. I love it that I work in a field that makes prophecies My students think I'm a crackpot, but I'd rather be that than a morose drunk, any day.

Statistics was the one math that made sense to me in college. The A I got in college was my only one in math since probably junior high school. I love the human psychology element.

Courage, your store is listed as "Coming Soon" in my company news. No official date yet.

Have a good day all!

^^^ so yesterday I flew out of LaGuardia through Dallas to Tucson, Arizona. First flight very delayed, I got confused about time zone, rebooked for late-nighter, then almost made it to the one I thought I'd missed (which was also late) but of course had given up my seat plus they were just loading the last standby on to the fully full flight. So I wait 2.5 hours for the next one, take off watching the full moon from my window seat (thinking it will wash out Tucson starscape). I get in around 12:30 a.m. Get to apartment at 1:30 a.m. and find I'm locked out. While waiting in parking lot for Uber to hotel around 2:30 a.m., note crescent of moon and constellations. Think, "odd, seems like just the other day it was full!"

SG, I caught the eclipse the other morning, pretty cool.

Have a colonoscopy scheduled for Monday morning. Not looking forward to the prep, but it is what it is.

Have a great weekend, all!
