Morning everyone, you are all doing so well, sorry i dont reply to everyone individually its just tricky to do on my phone but im reading all your posts and am motivated to keep going by you all.
Day 18 for me so pleased to be through the dreaded friday and saturday nights. Going to go out somewhere with my little one today get some fresh air.

I hear you RAL honey......we damaged our bodies. And it makes it harder to do happy happy joy joy for a while.....but you will heal. Your number will improve. Your sugar-eating will lessen.

Remember that if this was easy, none of us would be here. You are all champions. Big time.

Having a nice sober Sunday. Went for a nice 3 mile run this morning and I’ve been eating clean today too. Feeling focused and positive, and reminding myself all of the positives of not drinking.
-no hangover
-more energy
-face and skin looks better
-blood pressure was 150/90. Back to 115/80. Amazing.
-resting heart rate was 80 BPM, now 68.

I’ve been drinking enough water to sink a battleship.
My sleep isn’t great yet, but it’s better to wake up with no hangover with less sleep.

I’ve always told myself I drink because I like the taste of beer or whiskey. I think it’s I don’t dislike the taste, if that makes sense, but the problem is I’ve been using it to self medicate. I’d love to be able to have one or two, and then stop, but I just don’t have that ability. If it’s one, one turns into 5 during the week, and on the weekend, one turns into 8 or 9.

Anyway, that’s my thoughts a week into this. I’ve just got to take this a day at a time, and keep moving forward.

Its been a difficult day felt extremely sad and lonely, seem to have replaced the chocolate for huge bowls of granola, not sure if thats better or worse. But im going to bed miserable but sober, so thats good i guess. Going to try and eat better and do some exercise tomorrow.

I honestly did not have any pink cloud and I was in such a huge mess when I got sober. I kept thinking soon I will feel better, soon I won't feel miserable anymore. And that day came....I still remember where I was....driving down the beach road in the rain on my way to a horrible housecleaning job.....and I felt happy. I knew I was on the other side that day....and it will happen for you as well. s xx ❤️

Had a good day. The sun shone, I did some yard work, chopped wood and mowed the lawn. Then we had a family walk and lunch in a cafe. Just in bed reading and browsing the internet. Feels good to be clear headed looking forward to sleep and being refreshed on Monday morning.

Congratulations on 18 days Tinkerbeau, that’s so great! Don’t feel you have to reply to everyone, just post whatever you want to, whenever you like. We can’t always respond to everyone, and we don’t often have that much spare time! I hope tomorrow is a better day for you. Well done on staying sober despite feeling so sad ❤️

Be123 I hear you re the lack of motivation It’s Monday morning and I’m in the process of dragging myself forward. I just want to stay in bed and not have to face anything. I really don’t like Monday mornings, I have a busy day ahead and a busy week. As much as I would far rather stay in bed all day, I really have to get off SR and get ready for work.

I think this is what we were talking about before.....how it is not always wow I'm sober and I feel fantastic....I did not. It took me about a month last time I got to feel well and just better.

There is an expression in AA: don't quit before the magic happens.

It might take a different amount of time for all of us...it does....sometimes quickly sometimes a little bit of patience is needed, but you will feel better if you stay on this path. s xx

Hope everyone didnt have too hard of a weekend. I kept busy by non stop cleaning and rearranging furniture fun times. I did how ever give into eating candy Saturday night.

So now I have reduced sugar I have woken with the day 3 sugar withdrawal headache and it hurts I know I will work through it and at least it isn't a hangover

Keeping it brief this morning as screen time hurts head.
