So I went to play poker the other day at a friend's house whom I rarely see. The last time I went over there was close to 2 years ago.
I had completely forgotten the last time I was there I got blackout drunk and made a total ass of myself. I was embarrassed when I got there and it was the 1st thing everyone brought up when they saw me. It was OK though I told them I quit drinking over 16 months ago.
I stayed for about 3 hours. There were 6 players, and I did not see a single player have more than 1 drink in that entire 3 hour span. They were there to hang out and play poker, not get drunk. Last time I was there, completely drunk, I assumed everyone else was at least getting buzzed. Nope, I was the only idiot excessively drinking.

Thanks again for all the well wishers. She was truly a huge part of my life and has left a massive hole in my heart.
Rd2 I can so relate to thinking whenever I was blackout drunk everyone else was too. What an eyeopener when you find out that no it was just you! Cringe..
Over the years I became a home alone drinker as I knew I couldn't be trusted to go out in public without total humiliation, inhibition and out of control behaviour. For one so reserved you would be shocked.

Time slipped and I realize today is day 504...I hit 500 the other day and didn't know it. Work is crazy, life is good, and I'm glad to be here. I remember checking the days around 485 and making a mental note of when 500 would be. Proud but humble and cautious. Stay safe everyone.

I hope everyone is staying healthy and doing ok with social separation. I work at home most days anyway so that's not much of a change. However; now my wife is working at home as well. So far that is going ok.
The kids schools are closed of course. I am very fortunate my my mother is a retired teacher and takes them most days. We keep them here 1 or 2 days a week to give my mom a break. The teachers are assigning them about 4 or 5 hours of work a day. So I can just follow the lesson plans and check there work.
The half marathon i am training for is of course postponed. I'm fine with that, there are obviously much bigger issues. I am still running. In fact, last weekend I ran 13.1 miles. It took me 2 hours and 7 minutes. I will continue to work on my times so I can have the best half marathon possible for whenever they reschedule it.

Nice! Sort of like "extended training" for the marathon, eh?
Good to get outside.
I've been doing the bike trails in my area every day to clear my head. Eerily quiet in the early morning, but it helps keep the pandemic isolation blues in check. I'm extremely grateful I'm not boozing through this....

Im glad to hear you are both getting out Kaily and Zip. That is great the biking trails are quite. I definitely see people out when I am running. People walking dogs, biking, running. I'm pretty good at staying 6 feet away though.
