Thanks Kaily,
I should have quit years and years ago...but better late than never, I suppose. I'm very grateful that I've maintained my sobriety and have absolutely no intention of starting up again. Just the health benefits are worth dumping booze for good!

Hi zip! Welcome to our group.
I hope everyone else is doing well. I have really picked up on my running. I ran 10 miles last Saturday. I am running 3 to 4 days a week. I run 5 miles on the weekdays then a long run on the weekend. I can't believe I started running just one mile and was able to build from there. There is zero chance I would have been able to do this if I was still drinking. I also just officially registered for the half marathon on May 17th.

Clears the mind, too.
Do good on the marathon!
Yeah well done RD2, impressive.
Like Zip I too am too old to run but I do walk, it was a huge part in my early recovery and still is. The other day I walked 8.4 miles. I have also been eating low carb food and have now lost nearly 2 stone. Only problem being is the more weight I lose the older I look!

Wow Kaily, great job on the weight loss! Don't worry if you think you look older, it's about how you feel. I am only 42 but my hair and beard are almost completely grey and I'm mostly bald. I also have more wrinkles than your average 42 year old. Most people would guess I'm 55 and I don't care one bit. I have never felt better in my life.
Great job on 15 months both Kaily and JimmyJ!

Since we're giving age....I just rolled 42.
Although I've been sober over a year now, it was my first complete year from one birthday to the next I was sober. Probably since I was in my early 20s.
Hope all of you are well. Glad we still share sober dates Kaily.
