Well, yes, but now there's more cat madness! So I scrubbed it and stuck it next to the radiator, in the draughty back hallway to dry, thinking I'd stick it in the garage, and give it to my daughter for Gavin & Stacey (her two little black and white cats), only to notice that Chairman Meow had gone missing, looked everywhere, and he's curled up in the thing, happy as anything. So do I leave it there? Give it away? Give him away with it? Stupid cat.
Glad you have all of those AF drinks. And don't forget to put some water in the fridge as well....ice water is just lovely I think. s xx
I like sparkling water, can't bear still water, but I drink loads of the fizzy stuff, yes and I agree, lovely really cold.
Sx

Just met a relative in a cafe for a Christmas catch up. She tried to insist I have a class of wine. I said no I wasn't drinking and she kept pushing. In the end I had to tell her I had a problem with drinking and have quit forever. It was very frustrating but grateful I was able to say no.

Well done being strong Mary.
This really annoys me - when people try and insist that we drink with them, a polite refusal should be enough. People don't try to force cigarettes on non-smokers. I think some people do it to justify their own drinking. We don't owe anyone an explanation - we shouldn't have to justify our decision, our personal choice.
Sorry, rant over

Thanks, it was so frustrating

It seems there's going to be alcohol and pushy people in unexpected places.

Well, this forum is definitely helping so thanks for all your support.

Thank you all for the welcome!

I'm just starting my day ( Day 4 ) because I was up until 2am binge watching Sneaky Pete. I was ready to head to bed after a particular episode but the ending was so horrific, I had to watch another episode. I didn't want horror in my dreams.

I have quite a bit to get done today but am thankful to be doing it clear headed, except for this head stuffieness (not sure that's a word) from a virus I've been fighting for nearly a week.

I will be checking in later after I wear myself out shopping. I love shopping for the holidays, but often lose my temper with rude people. But, I've been working on telling myself that I have no control over most situations and just need to let it go. It's surprisingly effective.

More later. Hope everyone has a great sober day

I don't get rude people. And I am glad I had the mum I did....she simply did not tolerate it and neither do I. I have this look.....people say it is scary.....so if someone is rude to my face they usually apologise real fast.

Their stuff not mine.

Hope you got the tea I sent you in the 24 hour thread s
And I hope you feel better.

I loved Sneaky Pete.....I was mega-annoyed it got cancelled.

I'm here and doing okay. I shopped yesterday and then had my grandson last night. I had time to read, but I couldn't type. He's at that age where he talks constantly. He's so sweet, though!
Bob, I'm so sorry you drank again. I know how hard this is, I am having a hard time, too. Craving at the oddest times. I just want to get through one day, today. Tomorrow will be it's own problem.
It helps me a lot that I only work three days this week. Gives me some time to spend here and listening to recovery things.
Mary, your relative was so wrong. I'm so glad you stood up for yourself. I would have just wanted to walk out. Hooray for you!
Welcome Optimist! Glad you are here. I think I saw another new person, but the page has turned so I can't scroll up and see who it is. Welcome to you, too!
I'm going to do some gift wrapping and figure out what else I need to get.
It's a rainy day in Georgia. Charley just got a bath and I'm watching him play in the mud outside. He loves mud but hates baths.

Good morning all.

I'm not familiar enough with people's names, but noticed a few of us have struggled, and a few picked up briefly. My complete support to you. ❤️ We can do this! Keep turning up here each day and we'll nut it out together. All of us are at risk in these early days. I know I am.

Going shopping with my daughter today for last minute 'things'. Made a Christmas tree out of an interesting branch I found in the garden. Stuck some lights on it. I think I'm the only one who thinks it creative.

I think cats pee on stuff to make it their own Steve. Chairman Meow likes it. He's made it his own.

Day 7 today. Hey, that's a week!

Good morning everyone. I'm slowly getting my head around this thread there's a lot happening but I'll try and keep up.
Enjoy your day shopping Steely. Get in and out early is my tip. Your tree sounds lovely btw.
I'm having issues with my cat as well SoberStevie but she's not well so she is forgiven. My pooch on the other hand thinks the Christmas tree was put up for his convenience. Thankfully he's too small to reach the branches but I'm mopping daily. Lucky he's cute.
I'm spending the day cooking, relaxing and wrapping the last of my gifts.
Have a great day everyone.

Hello. Just very quickly checking in. We went to a lovely carol service tonight in a country church in the middle of nowhere (but it was packed). There was mulled wine available afterwards, but it did not set off any triggers.

Well done all. We can beat this!

Congrats on 1 week Steely.

It's great you weren't triggered by the mulled wine, Coder.

Day 9 over now. I'm off to bed.

Thanks for the support.xx
