FBL hope all is well with you. You have been through and awful lot lately. I really admire your positive attitude, but it's ok to feel badly sometimes.♥

Dee-many thanks.♥
All my love to all of you. I'm sorry I didn't name everyone, but you all mean so much to me. ♥♥♥

Hi Carlos! Your sobriety data is 6/3/2013?

Dee, are you April 6?

Glee's is this Sunday, I think. Wishing you'd check in, Glee.

I want to mark my calendar with everyone's dates, if you observe them. SG? FBL? Lurkers?

Courage, mine is June 22, 2009.

Carlos! Looking forward to an update!

Busy, busy, busy these days! Trying to finish my latest book project. I'm also working on a new personal project involving all-time radio airplay stats. Some very interesting preliminary results on that one!

Have a great rest of the week, all!

CARLOS!

How are you? We miss ya! Please fill us in on what is happening in your world.

4/17/15 is my day one. A date far more important to me than my actual birthday.

Courage, any news about your work situation?

Have a good day all!

Thanks sg! Happy 1771st Day And to all, happy today

My work situation ... My boss is having to deal with the uni President, Senate, and legal counsel -- and back out on promises to me, because legal has told him to put nothing in writing

Meanwhile, I'm hiding out most days in the nymph cave, now nymphless -- did I tell you all about that? It's my secret office ... Gilmer knew.... Worked all weekend to get it cleaned up and technologically functional again.

My goal is to try to fulfill my duties well, without attention to my work-AV / ego. Or the egos around me.

Ah, Courage, the work drama never ends for us.

My current boss has been selected to open a new store in another state, and a leading candidate to replace him is the micro-manager that I worked for the past three and a half years. It's just life, and I choose to live in the reality I face each day. As Courage said, I will try to fulfill my duties well and keep a low profile no matter what happens.

Courage-nymph cave? I think that needs elaboration.

Still fighting a nasty head cold and sleeping prodigious amounts, at least by my standards. Hopefully, I have turned the corner.

Best wishes for a good Thursday all!

Sorry to hear about your work situation, courage. Those legal folks ASK for everything in writing from the opposing side but advise clients not to put things in writing - ugh. Hope things work out in your favor in the end.

SG, hope you feel better soon. It is so hard to have to work when you're sick.
I worked for some of the best attorneys in SF and Oakland for most of my career, until I couldn't take it anymore. I have a couple of great friends who are attorneys, but working for them is probably one of the most stressful things I've ever done. Total burn out. I was their Corporate Controller. Ugh. I feel for anyone who has to deal with anything legal.
Great to see Leigh!
Courage, I'm glad you have a secret place to go. Sounds wonderful.
SG, do you have 1771 days?? If so huge congrats!!!
FBL, good luck with the book project!
Have a great day all. All my love to you.

The nymph cave...

A few years ago, I assumed control of a pretty sizable budget (for an academic) from a grant that a colleague had mostly taken to another institution. Because I had overhead money, the college agreed to let me keep some of the grant's office space. It's a largish office, with a tiny separate office with its own door in the back. Both rooms have windows and are really quite nice.

I staffed it with research assistants, mostly my students or former students. They just happened to be young women, as most of my students are. I worked there in the back room during my sabbatical year.

Now, I hardly have any budget and only one parttime research assistant, but the college has, so far, forgotten to reclaim the room.

Lately I've been working there again, when I can. Almost none of my colleagues know about it -- space is very hard to come by here and it would provoke envy. Plus I don't want to be found.

I call it the nymph cave after the story of Diana and Acteon:

Enjoy your cave, Courage!

Looks like 6-10 inches of heavy, wet snow for us tomorrow. Old man winter is still hangin' around!

My book project is nearing the finish line. It's a smaller size than what I'm used to working with, so that is causing some problems. But, nothing I can't figure out!

Have a great day, everyone!
