24 Hour Recovery Connections Part 460
Thank you for the shout out! The last 14 months have been the most memorable in my life. Fighting breast cancer makes you realize what is important in life....and it isn’t drinking. Yesterday was my husbands on year sober anniversary.
We appreciate every sober day. It is such a gift.
Another 24 hours please.

Kenton - Agree with Venus. 'Friends' like that are draining. They somehow suck the very oxygen from everything around them. I am watching The Capture on catch-up! Just started and it's looking very promising. Also like Dublin Murders. Have you seen that? A bit dark but also really good.

taking a nap but I have good energy ...30 full days of recovery
I’m in for 24 please.
Grateful for my name on the list, a little money in the bank, the feeling of being ready for bed at 10 pm and knowing I’ll sleep tonight.
Lying here looking at my beautiful guitars gathering dust and wishing I had the enthusiasm and drive to pick one up and practice. I haven’t played for a couple of years really and have forgotten everything I knew really (not that I was ever good to begin with).
I wish I could switch my brain off for a little while, and stop this washing machine feeling that seems to be a permanent thing at the moment.
If things go to plan tomorrow, I’m meeting up with a woman that I knew when we were in our early teens who lived up the road from my parents house, and still lives in town. Facebook connected us again so we’re going to take her dogs for a walk and have a catch up, which I’m looking forward to and anxious about in equal measure.
There was never anything between us other than being friends when we were young, a group of us used to get up to mischief on our local park and we spent a couple of years knocking about together before we all went our separate ways. But a friend is a friend and they’re in short supply at the moment 😔
Going for a walk in the countryside, which I think will be really nice.
I need to learn to give time, time. Need to learn more and regret less. Need to look forward instead of back.
Stopping drinking is the easy part. Dealing with the wreckage is harder, but the only way to get through the pain is to feel it.
I hope everyone is having a great weekend, wherever you are.
Peace and love
James

James.....Nick (Goat/husband) had dreams and guitars that were gathering dust. Now he has a band who is having their first gig just before New Year's. (And it's alcohol free, and I am seriously excited ).
He did not see (sorry, not big noting at all) someone coming into his life who would love and support his dreams the way I do....and neither did I.
The point is sobriety gives us new paths in our lives that we didn't see.....paths where we get to be great dads and have full ongoing contact with our kids, and a friendly relationship with past loves.
This happens. We work through this stuff and come to the place where we get our lives back. s ❤️❤️
